Animal ID: 9362Pepper Ann (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi there, my name is Pepper Ann. I am a sweet, wiggly girl. I get along with and am happy to meet everybody. I even tried to play with the neighbor's cat but he ran off...I wouldn't have hurt him though, I was just excited to see him. I previously lived with two smaller dogs and a little girl so if you have a family with kids and other dogs, I'll fit right in. Do you know what it means when dogs do the kidney bean? I would love to show mine off for you...it will make you smile. I'm also housebroken and really like my comfy bed(s) and my crate. I often will go lay down in my crate, even if I don't need to be in there...I guess it's ... (Read More)kind of my comfort zone, my safe place. But if there's a cozy bed or blanket somewhere, I'll nap there too. I'm not protective of my toys or food, if you want it, take it away and I'll be okay with that. Sometimes, my foster fur brother gets a little bratty (don't tell him I said that) and wants my bed or my toy or my crate...and I just let him have it. I don't want a confrontation, I'm a super sweetheart and I'll just turn and go the other way. I do like to play but I won't fight anybody for attention. Would you like some wiggles in your life? How about sweet doggie kisses and soulful brown eyes welcoming you home from work? Let the people at Legacy know if you're interested in finding out more about me, I would love to meet you!' Animal ID: 9429Darling (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Darling is a beautiful flashy fawn girl. She has been a wonderful companion to an older couple for the past five years. She is only looking for a new home because her owners are not physically able to meet her needs anymore. She has not lived with dogs in a while, so we would need to do slow introductions to any new dogs or other animals. She is gentle and should be very small, once she gets to her ideal weight. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi there, my name is Travis, and I am about 2 years old. I am what they call a pocket boxer. I am tiny little thing, weighing in at only 51 pounds. I am very sweet and wiggly. I live with two other boxers, a male, and a female and I get along great with them. I am shy around men for some reason. I am still getting used to my foster dad, I am not fresh with him, but I don't fully trust men just yet, I just run away from him, he isn't happy when he can't get me in the crate. . I am not sure what it is about them, I just need some time to get used them. I am slowly coming around to my foster dad. I was just neutered and got a clean ... (Read More)bill of health from the vet. All my shots are up to date. Toys are something new to me as well%BD'%BD| I am not quite sure what to do with them, so I just carry them around in my mouth for a while.. But I see my foster brother and sister playing with them all the time, so I guess they are something fun I should learn about. I don't know any commands just yet; my foster mom is working on the basics with me. I am super sweet, I give soft kisses, and I love to snuggle if you let me. Thanks for visiting my page, and I hope I get to meet you soon! Kisses,- Travis See my bio and more pics here: http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2829 (Less)

Priscilla is a stunning 10 month old female who is very dog friendly! Priscilla adores children and seeks them out. She also loves toys! It's so much fun to watch her play! She is completely crate trained--going in easily and never making a peep. Priscilla is house trained too. She knows sit and is working on other commands too. She does pretty good on leash. Priscilla came in with her brother Elvis. She would love another dog in her forever home, but she'll be ok without one too-as long as she gets lots of attention!     My name is Benton and my mom says I'm a BIG meat head...I thought I was a dog. Anyway, she says I'm very SWEET and I love to cuddle. I weigh a very healthy 70 pounds and mom says I'm a good eater. When I came to my foster mom, I was pretty sick and very scared of everything. My foster mom even scared me sometimes when she tried to pet me and love of me. BUT, I've gotten so much better! I've learned again that it's ok to trust these human people and let them love on me. I'm a really good napping buddy and I really like it when you let me up on the couch with you. Mom says I'm crate trained and house trained. Not one single accident in my ... (Read More)new foster home! I like to play with my boxer sister and my toys. Mom says I'm too big to have skin siblings that are little...but kids over 15 would be ok. I like cats and I'm very nice to them too. Mom says I'm very goofy and will need a forever family that wants a boxer who is pretty calm for my age and is willing to be patient and calm with me. Mom says I still have to go through heart worm treatment and won't be ready to go anywhere until February. See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2820 (Less)

'Hello my name is Zak. I am a 9-12 month old bubbly boy. I was told that I have demodex mange and skin infection...no wonder I was itching like crazy. I was extremely malnourished when I was rescued by LBR. I am getting medicine and my hair is starting to come back on my legs :) Thank goodness because it's cold outside!!! My tail does not stop wagging as I am a happy boy! My mom puts a sock on my tail as my skin is very fragile. She also dresses me up in clothes so I do not scratch myself. I think I look silly but she keeps on telling me it is for my own good. My mom and foster fur sister are trying to teach me some manners and ... (Read More)basic commands.     Hi, my name is T-Bone. I'm so happy to be out of that terrible shelter. Thank God LBR came to help me, I didn't have another day left there. I'm told I'm a really good boy, not to brag but foster mom says I'm perfect. She also said I'm super smart. I didn't know how to go up and down stairs, or use the doggie door but in one day I had both mastered. I also learned to sit, come and I'm learning lots more.     'Hello my name is Ziggy. I am a healthy happy Baby Boy Boxer. The people at the shelter guessed that I was around 10 months old but mom thinks that I may be a bit younger. My foster mom says that I am still full of puppy antics, whatever that means :-) I have had a couple of accidents in the house but I am trying really hard to get house trained. I have to be watched closely as I have been caught chewing things that I am told I should not be chewing on (especially my mom's toes)! I LOVE my foster fur sister and want her to play ALL the time. I would do best with a fur sibling to help show me the ropes. I am working on commands. My mom ... (Read More)tells me that I am really smart as I learn stuff quickly. She is really enforcing the sit, stay and come as she somehow feels I could be an escape artist. I am patiently waiting by furever home, until then I need to go and terrorize by foster fur sibling.     'Hey! My name is Tesla and I've been with LBR for a few weeks now. Since I've been here I've gained some much needed weight and have really fit into my foster family. I live with three foster siblings and love them all. I love to play with them or relax on the couch with the skin kids that live here. I am house and crate trained; I even know a few commands! Foster mom says I'm one of the sweetest fosters she's ever had. I have a way of melting into your heart. I still have to go through heart worm treatment.     Hi There. I am Doogie Bowser. I think they named me after some TV Star. I don't know, but I will sit pretty for you anyway. Something was said about wormies in my heart, that doesn't sound good. But they said they were going to fix me up and make me all better, now that sounds good. My foster Mom and Dad said I should be all better after Christmas. Not sure when that is, but I hope it is soon. Anyway, in the meantime they say they can get to know me better. Be sure to check back with me as I am sure they will find out I am just awesome in the sweetest way. See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2799

Hello my name is Truett!! I am 8 months old as of September. I came to LBR because I accidentally got out of my old house and got hit by a car.     **16 Dec2014 Update on Jessie Ann. She is HEALTHY!!! She is weighing in around 70lbs currently, no more skeleton look to this girl. She is such a happy girl now; she loves everyone and wants to play with cats, dogs, kids anyone that will love her. She is a big girl who doesn't realize her size so she could hurt smaller children or smaller dogs by knocking them down. She loves to go to the park but she doesn't much care for rides in the car yet; I still have to pick her up & put her in then she lays there just fine.     'Hi, and thank you for visiting my bio. My name is Jameson Kelly and I'm a 4-year old brindle male boxer. I have natural ears and a natural tail. I'm about 70lbs. (I'm a big boy), and I am very strong. My foster parents rescued me from the shelter as I was picked up as a stray. They took me to the vet and they found I had heartworms, but those are all gone now. Because of my past life and living on the street for a while, I'm not very friendly with cats, and I am selective about the dogs I'm friendly with. I am good with kids, but because of my size, I'm best around kids over 10. I get excited sometimes and wouldn't want to ... (Read More)accidentally knock a smaller kid down. I am good in a crate (I don't fight going in, but will whine for a second once I'm in there...could you blame me). I picked up ''sit'' really quickly and my foster parents are working with me to learn more commands. I love going on walks and I'm good on a leash. I'm learning to sit before I cross the street (gotta look both ways ya know). All I'm looking for is a family to call my own. I'm a big lover and want to share my love with someone/a family that is special.' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2748 (Less)

'Hi there! I am so excited that you are stopping by my page and know you are going to be impressed with my sweet little self! I'll start out by telling you that I will need to stay with my foster family for a while. The vet told my foster mom that I have a skin infection and a mild case of Demodex mange. That's okay, because I am taking medicine and really hope to be all better before you know it. I don't go back to the vet for a follow up until late October, so I won't be available for adoption before then. In the meantime, it hasn't slowed me down and I am having fun playing with the fur kids at my foster home. I really like to play & ... (Read More)play & play some more. I have so much energy that it is a good thing there are two fur playmates here. I can wear one out and still have another one to play with....we have so much fun!!! I love to be outside and do Boxer burns in the big backyard and play chase with the fur kids here. I can even run faster than them, so I usually win the race!! There are lots of toys here, but I would rather play with the fur kids, or help them chase after the laser light. I have gotten along with all the doggies I have met and am nothing but wiggles whenever I see a new playmate. I am also very happy when I meet new people and with all this enthusiasm, I could accidentally knock over a toddler. I just can't control my wiggle waggle when I am so excited!! I was afraid in the beginning, but learned to use the doggie door after a few days and now it is hard to keep me inside. I also haven't had any pottie accidents lately and this makes my foster mom & dad very happy. Being outside and exploring the backyard is so much fun and also one of my favorite places to be! I don't like when I have to come inside, but my foster mom & dad don't want me to get sunburned. I know how to sit and understand what ''no'' means, but don't always listen. I am learning other things like off, down, shake, leave it and how to walk on a leash. I hate being confined, or restrained, so me and that leash aren't friends yet. I really like when foster mom gets excited and I get these yummy treats for doing what she asks. I will go in the crate to get a treat, but I just don't like being confined to such a small area. I have never chewed on anything I shouldn't, but I am a hungry, growing young lady. I always finish eating before everyone else and will help you finish whatever is on your plate, or in your bowl. You must not like it as much as me since it is taking you so long to eat! At night, I sometimes cuddle up next to one of the fur kids on their doggie bed, but I have another spot that I like even better. My foster mom and dad let me sleep in their bed and I get to snuggle up really, really close! This is my very favorite place to sleep!! My foster family thinks I will do best in a home with a yard, another doggie companion and no more than 4 continuous hours of crate time. I don't spend more than an hour or two in the crate at my foster home, as someone is almost always home. Once I am older and have learned all the rules, then it might be okay to leave me uncrated. Please reach out to your adoption counselor if you are interested in meeting me. Please also remember that we are currently not sure when I will be released, but hope to have a better understanding of the timeline when we follow up with the vet in late October. My foster mom & dad tell me that I am a very good girl and that I deserve the very best family of my own. They will be sad when it is time for me to leave, but many pictures and updates will be required from my new family. Thanks Again! Love Wrigley!     'Hi! I'm such a sweet sugar-face they named me Candy. I was brought to a shelter after living in the back yard all my life ( 6- 8 yrs). My ''family'' was going to have me put down. I was so covered in ticks they couldn't tell if I had any other lumps/bumps or not. Well I am clean and tick-free now. There were so many blood-sucking ticks, it left me anemic, so I had to get my health back, have a benign tumor removed and undergo Heartworm treatment .Now, I'm all better and I can go home with you.My Fom ( Foster Mom ) is AMAZED at how much energy I have now, compared to when she 1st got me. When you talk to me and love on me, my little nubbin ... (Read More)moves the fastest you've ever seen. I like to rest on the couch with you and snuggle. If you let me, I'll sleep in the bed with you.I can even jump up there myself now ! I'm not food- or toy-aggressive and I like everybody. Plus, I'm not jumpy, it's too hard for us older girls. Now that I am healthier, my Fom will help me lose a few pounds. I have a Fob ( Foster Brother) and we get along very well. I am very good about getting in my crate. Sometimes, when I see Fom putting on her work uniform, I just go ahead and put myself in the crate. I don't make much noise, so you have to ask me if I want out. Otherwise, I might just find a nice spot indoors to go, but I am learning that is not really people's favorite. ( I have never had an accident in my crate.) For a sweet ol' gal that never lived indoors till now, I've done great. If you feel you would be a perfect match for me, please contact your Adoption Counselor.'     'Hi, Friends! Thanks for stopping to meet me. I'm Tanker, a boxer boy of about 75 pounds. I was a stray before and too young to remember my birthdate, so my foster mom is estimating I'm just over a year old. My teeth are really clean and I'd love to show you how I can chew on a rawhide or rubber toy. I love to play rough and wear out my foster brother and sister doing so. Sometimes I even jump around like Tigger! It would make me really happy to have a fur brother or sister in my forever home as I've got a lot of energy to burn. If you'd like to take me for walks or runs to use up energy, that would be great, too. When I want to ... (Read More)play, I use my loud voice to alert my foster brother and sister. For this reason, apartment neighbors may not appreciate my beautiful bark. Because I'm young, I'm sometimes unsure of personal space and like to get into yours. You just need to correct me and I'll do my best to sit next to you instead of on top of you. I'm learning to respect human space every day. When I came to my foster family, I was fighting a non-contagious skin infection. With great meds and love, it's gone. I also have a knee issue that may need surgery before my adoption can be finalized, but I'd still like to meet you if you think I'd be a good fit in your family. We might just have to wait a little bit to actually live together. Please let my foster mom know if we can meet and play together!     Hey guys, My name is Victoria and I love nothing more than to please and play. I'm around 2 years old and man does my foster mom think I'm still a young playful pup. I like going for runs in the morning and walks in the evening with my foster mom. She says I do great on a leash and man do I get excited when I see the leash being grabbed. I get along great with my fur sister, who is 7 months, we are play, play, play non stop. I understand I have to share the bone with her without aggression but I do like to hide it and make it a game. I also believe I'm a giant lap dog so my host mommy is always sharing her lap with me if I'm not playing. ... (Read More) That big wire thing, well I'm learning.. It's not my favorite to go into however if your bribe me and offer me a little help, I don't cry or bark. Especially if you cover me up with a blanket but still allow me to see my fur sister. So far I haven't had any accidents in mummy's house, so she is thrilled. I'm as sweet as can be to any human I meet, I haven't met one I have had a problem with yet, sometimes I'm a little timid but can you blame me, some people are scary. My mommy says she is gonna have a hard time letting me go but she can't wait to find me my perfect family, especially if they have another dog because I love to play. Mommy said she will write more when she knows more, until then, I'm off to play for awhile and then cuddle. See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2697 (Less)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I have been with my family a couple of months now teaching them more and more about me. I am a small to medium size boxer. I weigh almost 50 lbs. My mom and the other volunteers think I am about 1.5-2.5 years old. I was originally thought to be older by the shelter but I was in rough shape before LBR helped me out. I am very sweet and gentle and am happy to give a kiss or two. I am a love bug that wiggles for everyone. I love my skin siblings and wiggle when I see them. I have been very gentle with them. I love to lean into people for a good scratch. I have pretty cool eyes. One blue and one brown. I am also deaf so I am ... (Read More)beginning to learn some signs. I have learned good girl, sit and lay and am working on stay. I also know come. I also will go into my crate when you point. Because of this, my mom thinks I will do best in a home with kids over 7 or dog savvy kids. I am with kids ages 8, 5, and 20 months and am doing great. I have a older Jack Russell brother who I love. I try and get him to play with me but he usually just chills. My mom has had me play with a boxer friend and I loved it. I am great on my walks and don't pull... when I see a bunny I usually stop and stare. In the backyard I love to chase them though. I am good with dogs on walks and haven't barked at them ever. My mom took me to the pet fair and I was great around other dogs and didn't get too excited. I just stayed by her and let everyone love me. I have had a few leash intros with other dogs and have been fine. I am house trained and crate trained. I love going in my crate to sleep at night. I am pretty low key during the day and just hang out. When I go outside I am usually calm too but every once in a while I will race around and do boxer burns. I like to sun bathe but given my fair complexion I can't stay outside very long. I like playing fetch but I don't always give the ball back. I love my toys too and my mom isn't sure how well I would share so she just keeps them up in the house and I get to play with them while outside. I am in the process of getting rid of some nasty heartworms. I will be ready to meet people at the beginning of August and ready for adoption towards the middle. I love people and look forward to meeting you! See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2694 (Less)

Hello. I am Hampton. According to the dictionary, 'Hampton' means 'home settlement.' I think that's interesting, since I am looking for a home to settle in. I am about 6 years old. I am house trained. I love kids! I am trustworthy in the house all by myself. ( I really don't care much for the crate, so I behave.) I don't even get on your furniture. I'm just an all around great guy. My foster mom says I am a love-bug and an all around sweet guy. **blush**. She is deserving of such respect and treatment. I would love a chance to meet a new family that could love me for life. You should know that in my pre-Legacy days, I did not ... (Read More)receive the care and treatment I needed, so I have to go through heartworm treatment. Since I arrived into Legacy's care, I have also had a number of bumps removed, and that's not uncommon for many boxers. However, I do understand that there is always a risk they will return. Legacy will provide all the information that they have on my medical care, history and treatment. I understand that Legacy has given me the very special title of 'Silver Boxer' which I display proudly on my bio page. Here is the link for the benefits that come with that designation. http://www.savetheboxers.com/silver.phpI should be ready to meet potential families sometime in late July. Please let my mom know if you would like to meet me. I would love to be picked by a family, especially if you have kids.     'I am a Flashy Fawn with very distinguished markings.. I have 1 half-black eyebrow, a blaze that divides my face in half, a funky ripped ear and several small nicks and scars that tell of my hard times, 2 socks in front and 2 stockings in the back. I walk/prance/gallop like a Thoroughbred Stallion. I have just completed Heartworm treatment, which tells you how strong and tough I am, so I need to put on a few pounds. When my other FOS (Foster Sister) was here, she was the Queen/Alpha Dog,and I was happy to let her. Now she's gone and I''m in charge. I do have some faults..I am not very vocal, so please be aware of my subtle communications( little whimpers). .. I like to go outside A LOT, every 2-3 hours if you'll let me. Otherwise, you better crate me or........... That's all my bad habits, and my love and good habits CLEARLY outweigh the negative. At bedtime,I like to tuck you in bed, but once you're asleep, I leave the bed and go stay in the living room/main room, where I can survey my kingdom and watch over my Family.     ' I am just settling in to my foster home but like the lady I am I just had to say hello to you. I am a nine year old girl who is just looking for a place to call home, and a family who will love me. I had one family and a fur brother until just recently. My fur brother passed away and my family felt I was too lonely, so they dropped me off at the shelter and these nice LBR people came and picked me up. I get up in the morning and have a bite to eat with the family. I am on a bit of a diet, trying to get my girlish figure back. But I do let mom know when someone is at the door. I am a little hard of hearing, so sometimes I need to be woken up from a nap if there is something you want me to do. Everyone here is trying to teach me about these things they call toys - I never had them before. I am not sure what all the fuss is about but that crazy young lady seems to think they are the cat's meow.     Hello All, My name is Jennifer; my Foster Dad calls me Jenna Wenna or Jenny or Jen for short. My Foster Dad tells me that I am a gorgeous flashy fawn Boxer Lady with a beautiful brown coat and gorgeous brown eyes. He tells me I weigh approximately 56 lbs and that I will end up around 60 lbs. I am a very sweet Boxer lady, well that is what my Foster Daddy tells me. ;-) My Foster Dad tells me I am very loving and that I enjoy giving what he calls endless kisses. So I might go a little over board on the kissing, what do you want? I do stop when asked nicely or when he tells me no ma'am. %81S Did he tell you that I love to kiss? He ... (Read More)says I Kidney bean like crazy when I am excited and when my people come home. I love, love, love to play with toys and I like to carry them all over the house. I play with one toy, then another, and another. He calls me a serial toy player. I have some physical challenges that were caused by what we suspect was a car accident. However, my foster Dad says there is no way to know that for sure since no one saw my accident happen. You see, I had x-rays, whatever those things are and they showed I had 3 breaks in my hip area. I have somewhat limited use of my back right leg. I am getting stronger every day and have regained about 80% of the muscle mass in my back right leg. I am pretty sure that is due to love, good food, rest, and a ton of play with The Boxer Gang. My Foster Brothers Sky and John love to play with me. Of course I don't let my hip challenge slow me down. I love to play with my foster brothers and sister and chase them all over the house and yard pretty much every chance I get. I love people and I love snuggling with my Boxer foster brothers and sister. I love to sleep next to my people in bed and I settle down quickly and don't move until my people get up in the morning. I do love to sleep or rest on my back with all four paws facing the ceiling. My foster Dad says that I am silly. ;-) I may give a few kisses before I settle down to sleep, what, I like kisses. ;-) My Foster Dad tells me I mind very well and listen very well if he asks me to stop doing something. I know sit and I am learning some other commands. I am house trained and I will let you know that I need to go out by ringing the poochie bells or hitting my paw against the back door. If that doesn't work, I will sometimes go look for you. Also, I am crate trained and I settle down very quickly after I go into the crate. I am usually sitting nicely when my foster Dad comes home to let me out. That is all for now, I hope to meet you soon.     Hi everyone! Meet Legacy foster Ms. Mulligan! When Mulligan first arrived into foster care it was evident she hadn't lived a very good life. She was under weight, scared and had no 'Boxer spirit'. It took a few weeks, but after some regular meals and lots of loving Ms. Mulligan is discovering what the good life is about! This little girl is a prime example of why Legacy does what it does! As Ms. Mulligan continues to come out of her shell her Boxer spirit has begun to return! In fact, we are learning that she's a whole lot of sweet and a whole lot of sassy! In fact, she has earned the nickname 'Ms. Sassy Pants'! Ms. Mulligan loves her daily ... (Read More)walks and does great on a leash! While she's cruising the neighborhood she likes everyone to know she's out and about! Who knew such a loud bark could come from such a little thing! She's also the sweetest little girl that loves nothing more than to be curled up in your lap or next to you on the couch. Each time you walk into the room she'll greet you with the fastest moving Boxer nub you have ever seen! In fact she gets so excited the back half of her body just wiggles and wiggles! Have you even seen what's often referred to as the Boxer Kidney Bean? Well, you haven't seen a kidney bean until you see Ms. Sassy Pants do it! Mulligan is cat friendly and kid friendly but is somewhat selective about her dog friends. Because of this she would prefer to be an only dog. She's crate trained and almost house trained. We're still having a few accidents in the house but that's ok because she's still learning! Ms. Mulligan is looking for her fur-ever home. Her fur-ever family needs to know she's had a bit of a rough life and will need a little love and patience. The positive side to this is she is the sweetest little girl and has a lot of love to give in return! Could this be the girl for you? How can you resist that face? I probably should go to a home without children or with kids 10+. I get scared when someone touches me when I cannot see them, so I like to be greeted from the front. If I sound like a great match for you, please contact my foster mom! Nice to meet you! ' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2556 (Less)

Hi, my name is Chicklet and I am a spunky and fun loving 2 year old brindle boxer girl. I am a small pocket boxer weighing 40 pounds; i am light on my feet and love to wiggle and dance around. I have a happy go lucky spirit, have lots of high energy but also like to settle down and nap. I am sometimes particular about my dog friends especially if they like to dominate. I love to run around and play with the 1 year old boxer boy here in my foster home; he is submissive. A home as an only dog or patience for slow introductions with a submissive playmate would be good for me. A home with a cat is not an option. I would be OK with dog savvy kids ... (Read More)who don't get in my face. I am crate trained, potty trained, pretty good on a leash. I am a very very sweet girl, looking for a home that wants some boxer entertainment and give them some love and companionship.     Hello my name is Jax. I'm a 4 year old white male that weighs in at 69 lbs. I am not deaf and can hear everything I choose to acknowledge. I do know a couple of commands but need further training to help me broaden my horizons. I am crate and house trained but I usually roam around the house with my two boxer foster sisters. I sleep on a dog bed in the bedroom at night. I'm good with the female dogs but I tend to show the other male dogs that I'm bigger than they are and my foster family currently keeps me separated from them. I get to eat alongside the girls when I'm eating and I really don't mind if they play with my toys, even when I'm ... (Read More)playing with them. I'm a little leery of meeting new people and will bark at them when they first come in the room but I'm very friendly and loving once I've gotten to know them. I'm never aggressive with people just fearful at first. Once I know you I'm a big, lovable boxer boy that likes to lay my head in your lap and get his ears rubbed. I had a problem with my skin and had a little hair loss that may or may not grow back but I'm ok now. If you think you might be the perfect match for me give me a call and we'll get together.     My name is Oslo, just like the capitol of Norway. I am white as the snow on the mountains (except for a little brown forehead patch that is fading into white as I mature). I'm not anywhere near as old as a glacier though. I have a warm personality and have my moments of silliness. I'm a pretty mellow guy overall and napping, eating and snuggling are my favorite activities. I trot around the yard and even slow gallop and my foster mom says it is lovely to watch. I like to roll in the grass, get a little sun while watching my foster mom sit in a lawn chair, and just be with my humans in general. I am a tad hard of hearing (from age) but ... (Read More)I know my name and my nickname 'Little Old Man.' I'm ok with calm dogs and don't take kindly to crazy, wild puppies. I'm crate trained and do woo woo/yodel for a bit, but then I settle down. My most interesting feature is my one handsome eye - I lost the other eye (I wasn't able to tell my foster mom how it happened). It doesn't bother me at all, though I prefer being greeted from my seeing side. I'm best around kids older than 12 who will respect my age and love me. I'm good on the leash and I like my harness. I'd like to meet you and see if there is a spark - Love, Oslo See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available3.php?dogID=2499 (Less)

Animal ID: 13649Mattie (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Mattie was very severely abused in her life before coming to LBR. She was apparently used as a bait dog to help train Pit Bulls to fight before her LBR save. She has been with us for 8 months now and has come a long ways however I am not sure that she will ever put her past life totally behind her. According to the veterinarian she is between 3 and 4 years old. When we first picked her up she tested positive for heart worms. She had over 250 to 300 open puncture wounds on her and had 5 open tears in her skin which were severely infected and were old enough wounds that the vet said they could not be sewn up and would have to heal on ... (Read More)their own. Many of them were inflamed and oozing. The vet cleaned them up and treated them. They did heal but they left some pretty large scars. She has been with us for 8 months now and still has over 100 visible scars on her front legs, shoulders and head. The cartilage and joint in the elbow on her left front leg was pretty severely damaged by dogs chewing on it when she was used for a bait dog. She has arthritis in that elbow and the Veterinarian recommends that she be on a lifelong daily regimen of Fish Oil and Glucosamine & Chondroitin. He says that should help somewhat, however he says the damage is severe enough that it will cause her bigger problems as she becomes older. It doesn't currently appear to bother her when she is walking around, however when she first wakes in the morning or from a long nap she tends to limp for a few minutes on that leg. According to the vet walks would not be bad for Mattie at this point, however long runs should be avoided due to the joint damage in that elbow. One of her canines was broken off about 1/8 inch from the gums and the other three had been filed smooth at the gum line. By mid-January the three canines which were filed off had become infected and she had to go in and have them extracted. Due to the infection in the lower left canine the tooth in front of it had to be extracted as well. The lower right canine is the one which is broken off. It was not infected so the decision was made not to remove it at this time however the vet said we needed to watch it closely because there is a very strong probability that it will eventually have to be removed. Mattie randomly has Idiopathic Head Tremors. The Vet has no explanation however he thinks there may be some neurological problem which could possibly have been caused by the puncture wounds and dog fights she endured. Sometimes a week will go by without any issues and other times she will have two or three episodes a day. We are pretty sure that she was some ones pet which was either lost or stolen because she wouldn't get on any furniture and was pretty much house trained when we got her. After about 2 months she started getting on the sofa in our den but I don't think she would do it even now if it weren't for Dexter and Gus getting up there. She is house trained and will go to the door when she needs to go out but she doesn't make any noise at the door. Even now the problem is she doesn't go to the door until she really has to go and if you aren't constantly watching and you don't let her out immediately she will go right by the door. Mattie will not go out into the yard to pee or poo or the ground is wet. Doesn't matter if it is raining or if the lawn is just wet from the sprinklers or even a heavy frost, she will go to the bathroom on the deck under the patio cover. You have to watch when she goes out because she loves to dig in the yard. She hates cats and immediately goes on the attack if a cat is present. It only took her a couple of weeks to realize that our two boxer boys had no intention of hurting her and the three of them decided it was OK to peacefully coexist. It was almost four months before she started playing with them and it took her 5 months before she picked up her first toy. After almost 5 months she has finally become best buds with Gus and Dexter. I have taken her to pet fair several times however she is not comfortable in the Pet Fair environment. She growls and doesn't want any of the other dogs getting too near to her. She is afraid of the dogs as well as new people. She is much more accepting of meeting new people but she initially trembles and leans up to me or hides behind me for about the first 15 or 20 minutes when someone new comes up. She is easily startled by loud noises. She will run and hide behind furniture or in her crate if you yell at her or there are sudden loud noises. She walks very well on a leash but if someone walks toward us she will cower next to or behind me or will run away from them until she hits the end of the leash. She is becoming more trusting but is a long and slow process. See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2484 (Less)

Hi. I'm Tara. Thanks for reading about me. I may be a little older then some of the other kids at LBR that you may read about, but I still have so much energy and love to give. I have learned that squirrels can run really fast when I chase them, and birds are pretty fast too! I am around 7 years old and have a little grey in my face, but don't let that fool you. I like to play with some toys and I love to chew! I will spend hours sitting next to you and contently chew on my bone. I like other dogs but I am self assured and will stand up for myself if I need to. I don't have the energy of some of those youngsters, so I don't think I ... I really want to be with you, to be rubbed, and be part of your family. I'm also very gentle with kids. I finally finished my treatment for something my foster mom called heartworms. But now I feel great and I'm ready to find my new home. If you have some room in your heart and home for an older, sweet, gentle girl with a bunch of love left to give, please ask to meet me!     Hey there! My name is Cleverley! I am the wiggliest little girl you will ever meet! I have a lot of fun at myfoster home. There are two big boxer boys and a smaller boxer girl here that I love to play with and the dog beds are great too! While I love my friends here, I do need time to get to know new doggy friends when I first meet them. My foster parents have introduced me to everybody with a crate introduction, and after not too long, I am good to go! I weigh in at 56 pounds. I am amazing in my crate, I go right in with no protests and just curl up for a nap. I am great in the car and walk well on a leash. My favorite thing is to give ... (Read More)kisses. I also love to be petted and curling up next to my foster mom on the couch. I had to get healthy the first couple of months I was with my foster family; I had to get spayed, have a couple of lumps removed, and have heart worm treatment. All that is behind me now and I am as good as new! I am also so ready for what my foster mom calls my 'furever' home. She told me about it, and it sounds amazing! I can't wait to have a family to call my own and be loved forever. If I sound like your kind of girl, let my foster mom know, I hope to meet you soon!      'Hi there! My foster mama named me Petunia, because I'm a pretty little girl...just like a flower! I am just a tiny little girl at 40ish lbs, which makes me the perfect size to fit in your lap! Which is my preferred place to be. I came to my foster home in May 2013. I just love my fur siblings so much, including my kitty sister, that I haven't wanted to leave. My foster parents don't think I've ever lived inside before, so I am soaking up the good life of laying on the couch snuggling with my foster mom. I had worms living in my heart when I first arrived, but we quickly had them evicted. I sleep in my crate during the day when my ... (Read More)foster parents are working. I use to hate my crate, but I'm not scared anymore because my foster sisters and brother are right next to me. I am house trained, but still have the occasional 'accident' in the house. I walk pretty well on a leash if I have my harness on, but if a doggie gets to close or a bunny runs by, I will pull. I do know 'sit', but don't always do it. My foster mom says I can be stubborn. But I just flash my sad puppy dogs eyes at her, give her sweet kisses and she forgets all about that 'stubborn' stuff. I still need some work on that training stuff mom is always talking about. When I first arrived here I didn't know what to think of my kitty sister, so I would just sit and stare at her forever!!!! But now we are friends and love to chase each other around the house. I also didn't know anything about toys or how to play. My foster brother tried and tried for months to play with me and I just sat and looked at him like he had three heads! Not anymore, now I LOVE to wrestle with him. I particularly enjoy biting his ankles!!! I also like to play tug-o-war on occasion or will play with a squeaky toy. We also have deer antlers to chew on! I really LOVE those as well!!! I am somewhat dog selective and need slow intros with other dogs. I tend to be a little reactive and do not like dogs I don't know being all crazy and in my face. I do better with non-reactive submissive dogs. Even though I need time to warm up to dogs, I really need to have a fur brother to be with and play with as I don't like to be alone. So my new family will need to understand that I need slow intros with other dogs and need to watch me closely to make sure I continue to behave. My new family will also need to be patient with me in the beginning as I'm not a big fan of change/new things. Oh and I am kid friendly. I especially love the little ones, they are the perfect height for giving kisses. I am really the sweetest little girl. So, if you're looking for a sweet lap dog to play with your submissive male and give you lots of kisses and don't mind snoring, then I'm your girl! But, If you're looking for a dog park dog, an only dog, a dog to take everywhere with you or have lots of playdates, please check out the other fabulous fosters on the available page. Let my foster mom know if you would like to know more about me, or would like to meet me. Lots of boxer nub wiggles and kisses!     Hello there, my name is Zia! It means splendor or light, and I bring lots of it to my foster home. I meet everyone at the door with my ears perked up and my whole body wiggling with excitement, I love to have people come over for a visit! My favorite thing in the world is to go for a walk or a ride in the car, I love to see the world and everyone in it. Like any respectable lady I've got excellent manners and perfect people skills, what more could you ask for? I am a middle-aged girl at about 5-6 years old, but there's plenty of life and spunk left in me don't you worry. I'm queen bee at my foster home, you see I've been a mama dog many ... I love children and really enjoy following them around and watching them as they play, just like a good mama should. I'd love to find a forever home with some kids just for me! I'm friends with the other dogs in my foster home, but I'm perfectly happy to be the princess and the center of attention. I prefer the couch or bed as opposed to my crate, but I promise to be a good girl and leave things just as you left them. Any good hostess meets her guests at the door with a smile and a hug, that yucky crate just cramps my style so please just leave me out to rule my roost while you're away! If you'd like to add some light to your life, let the nice people at Legacy know that Zia is the girl for you. I promise to meet you every day with a hug, smile, and my extra-special wiggle!     Well hello there, my name is Winston. It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm a big ol' teddy bear looking for his forever family after my first one decided they didn't want me anymore. I'm a happy go-with-the-flow kind a guy though, so I'm perfectly content to be just about anywhere as long as I have people who love me. I'm a good guard dog and take my responsibility very seriously, I always make sure you know when someone is at the door and when the mailman comes to drop off any goodies for you. I love to play with toys and fetch like a champ, so if you have some older kiddos I'd love to romp around the backyard with them. I'm about 7 years young, so I know how to potty outside, stay in my crate while you're gone, and I will even sit and shake for a treat! I know, I know... I'm a pretty fun guy! So you think you might want to have me join your family? I'd love that! Just let my foster dad know and I'll be over in a jiffy. It's a date!     Want to meet the best kept Secret here at Legacy Boxer Rescue? Miss Secret is a very special girl. She is super sweet and loves her foster momma time. She is the best cuddler and loves to get up on the couch with you and hang out. When she first came to my house, she was scared of just about everything and had to learn how to be a dog again. In the time she has been here, she has learned to go outside to potty (with a doggie door), go in her crate with the point of a finger, and play with toys. Although she gets along great with her fur-siblings, it takes her a while to get used to new dogs. Secret has never chewed on anything in my ... (Read More)home, counter-surfed, or gotten into the trash. She is such a well behaved girl that she is left out of her crate even when I'm not home. Secret would love to go to a home where she had a brother to keep her company and parents that will let her curl up in the bed. This special girl has wiggled her way into my heart and I know she will do the same to you. Secret can't wait to meet you!     I want to be the first to let you know that while I may have grey on my face, I am spunky!! As far as love goes, I have TONS to give. I promise you will see it in my big, brown eyes. What am I looking for? A nice comfy bed and a family that will love me would be perfect. If don't have other animals in the house, that's okay. If you do, that's okay too. I'm happy either way. As you can see, I don't ask for much. I'm even a light eater and I only weigh 51 pounds. I'm just a dainty little girl. I hope to see you soon.      'Hi, my name is Miranda! I am a nine year old flashy brindle senior girl with a lot to offer someone who will love me just as I am. My foster Dad and Mom call me Randa for short and I like that! My foster dad tells me I have something called a sweet soul. Don't know quite what that means, I just know I love him and my foster mom bunches! I am an easy going girl, but don't let this smidge of silver on the ole' muzzle fool you! I have a lot of energy in reserve when it comes to play time! I can run rings around my fur brother and he is two years my junior he he he!! I haven't had a very stable home life for the last couple of years ... (Read More)and all I want is a place I can hang my leash, settle down and call home. For now though my foster dad is taking me to the Dr. to have a few tests run. When we get the results of those tests we will know more about what my foster dad calls my long term needs%BD'%BD|..so stay tuned everybody!
