Animal ID: 14137Juniper (female)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is Juniper! I told my foster mom the top five things she should write in my bio. That I'm: - Super cute - Super sweet - Super friendly to everyone - Super gentle - Super sweet (oops, I said that one already!) I wasn't sure what to expect when I first met my foster mom and foster dad so I decided to keep an open mind and not be too nervous. As it turns out, I had nothing to worry about! I have two fur brothers that are a little older than me and we get along great. There are lots of toys here and I like the squeaky kind (like the lion in my picture). My foster mom told me she likes my ... (Read More)gentle nature and laid-back personality. I'm happy to relax or be a little fun and playful - whatever is going on in the house I can mix in perfectly. I know some basic commands (sit, wait, come), crate trained, not jumpy, walk good on a leash and I'm a great back seat passenger in the car. I was a rock star during my vet exam and weighed in at 53.8 lbs. My foster dad said to just put 54 lbs but a girl never exaggerates her weight! If you are interested in meeting me, get in touch with my foster mom. I'll greet you with soft kisses and a cute smile!      'Hi my name is Rhett! I am one happy little fella! My foster mom keeps calling me her baby Rhett but I am three not a baby! I think it is because of my petite size, I am a little guy (48 lbs) but I have a huge heart! I love to wiggle my little booty and kidney bean dance all the time as my life motto is 'Don't let the past steal your present' (ok that was actually by someone named Terri Guillemets but they were right). My foster mom is currently teaching me new tricks! I have never felt as smart in my life and she keeps giving me kisses and praises me every time I follow her commands. I could have done this before but no one had time to ... (Read More)teach me. I love getting kisses and hug, it's the best! Being an inside dog is absolutely amazing!! I would have never known what I was missing but now I will never go back! I get to be a part of a family, I am a true member who gets loved on all the time and now I will not have it any other way! I have to go through heartworm treatment and will not be ready until the second week of May. If you are interested in meeting me, I would love to meet you when I am through. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Juve is my name, and my team is Juventus FC. I am still a puppy at only 1 1/2 years old, so I have puppy energy, and I will need a family who wants to work on training with me. I am recovering from Heartworm Treatment, and I can start meeting my new friends about the middle of May. I live with three other boxers, two boys and one girl, and we all get along great. I am housetrained and crate trained (if you put cookies in there for me). I have learned to sit for a cookie at my new foster home. I never knew before I came to this house that there were things I need to learn, like sit, down and shake, so I'm working on those. No wire ... (Read More)fences for me please.     Hi I'm Sebastian. My foster family says I'm a total sweetheart. My foster family has 4 boxers, including me, and while I've been here no one has been angry or snarky. I just love everybody dog or people alike. My little docked tail is constantly wagging. Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a 4 year old fawn boxer boy with a bit of white flash and weigh about 54 lbs. I get to stay in my crate during the day while the family is out at work but I roam the house during the rest of the day and night. I get to sleep in the bedroom at night. Sometimes I'll even go into my crate when the family is home just to relax. I haven't learned any ... (Read More)commands yet but I am anxious to spend time with my foster family and love it when they talk and play with me. I also like it when my Foster Dad wrestles with me on the floor.. I'm currently undergoing recovery for my Heartworm treatment but I'm an energetic fellow that is looking for someone to love and further train me. If you're that special family give a call and I'll come for a visit. See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2649 (Less)

'Don't let my beauty mislead you; I'm really a simple lady. My name is Misty and my favorite thing is lying on my doggie bed. Sometimes I nap and sometimes I just relax. Sure, you could probably convince me to get on your couch & snuggle with you but I am perfectly content on a doggie bed or a soft blanket. Any time I get a treat, which I will sit for, I'll carry it back to my bed before I eat it. I'll give sweet kisses once I get to know you & sometimes I'll play with my squeaky toys. When it comes time for a potty break, I like to get my leash on, take care of business outside and come right back in. I like riding in the car too and ... (Read More)I'm a good girl; I'll lie down in the back seat and enjoy the ride. My foster mom says I am easy-peasy, whatever that means. I am housebroken, crate trained and I'm not a barker or whiner...what's the point of that noise? I am totally chill; so well behaved that I can be left out of my crate and not get into trouble unattended. Other dogs don't bother me much; I'm polite and let them say their hellos but then I'm ready to move on. The shelter I was at said that it was very hard for my previous owner to give me up...but he could no longer take care of me. I didn't understand any of that though and it left me sad & confused when Legacy rescued me. I have warmed up to my foster mom but it will take a patient, laid back home for me to be comfortable in. I'm a little uncertain around lots of noise & activity, for that reason I might not do well with younger kids. But... if your place is calm & peaceful, with a cozy lounging spot just for me, that's where I want to be! If you're looking for a gentle, well-mannered lady, contact Legacy today & we can set up a meeting. ' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2647 (Less)

My name is Tonto. I am a reserved guy, much like the Lone Ranger's sidekick. I am really quiet and easy-going. I found myself in the shelter, although I have no idea why. I think my family could not afford the medical care I needed. When Legacy Boxer Rescue found me, they found me a place to live. I am enjoying the orthopedic beds and the regular meals/snacks. My mom gave me medicine that she says if for hookworms, and they will be all gone soon. Then, I am told I will have my ''bum'' leg removed. It causes me great pain, as there is something unfixable about my hip. So, I think when it is gone, I will be much more mobile than I ... (Read More)am now. After that, it looks like I'll have treatment for heartworms. And then finally, I'll be ready to meet new families. My foster mom says that I am the easiest dog she has ever had stay at her house. I am a perfect gentleman. I know how to be crated, but do not have to be, as I don't get into anything I'm not supposed to. My foster brother is not that good. He counter surfs?! So, my foster mom makes sure to try an put things up. I told him he shouldn't do that, but he didn't listen. I know better. :) I'm not a barker. What's the point? You know if someone is at your front door. :) I LOVED my foster mom's grandchildren, and did great with them. What else is there to say? Do you need a charming, stately side kick? If so, I should be ready to meet folks around the end of June. See ya Kemosabee. ' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2645 (Less)

'They say good things come in small packages. Well, I am 40 pounds of great! I am a little boy with a huge personality. My foster mom says I'm very smart, sometimes too smart for my own good. I was found stuck in a pesky animal trap after trying to find a little food. Then before I knew it, the nice people at Legacy boxer Rescue came to save me. I don't have a hard time finding food anymore, I get it in my bowl every single day. I love to play with my foster sister, almost as much as I love to cuddle with my foster mom. And another thing that makes me happy is the skin children from the neighborhood that have come to meet me! My foster ... (Read More)family is teaching me something they call 'manners'. I must be doing a good job, because they often tell me I'm a good boy and give me some treats when I do what they asked me to do. Since my life started off a little 'ruff' and now I see what the good life is like, I was wondering if you wanted to share your life with me? All I am looking for, is a little food, a little love and a nice comfy place to lay my head, preferably on your lap. Oh, and a tennis ball. I really like those too. Can't wait to meet you!     Hi, I'm Matilda! My foster family calls me Tilly most of the time. Did you fall instantly in love with my eye patch? It's ok, most people can't resist! I was rescued from euthanasia in a shelter in March 2014, so the people at Legacy don't know my background. Oh, how I wish I could tell them! I am spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on heartworm/flea prevention. I love children. While I like all people, I'm especially smitten with my foster daddy. He gives me extra treats when foster mom isn't looking....shhhhh, don't tell! He tells me I need to gain some weight, so it's ok. I am crate trained, and I do good on my ... (Read More)leash. My foster family suspects that I probably won't do good in a home with cats, but I haven't officially been cat tested. I also haven't been introduced to other dogs in my foster home until I feel totally comfortable and safe here. I have learned sit, shake, and I'm working on other basic commands. I can't wait to meet my forever family, so if you think that's you please call Legacy to set up a meet and greet! See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2642 (Less)

Hi, my name is Cuddles and I am a petite boxer girl who is looking for my forever family. I've heard that some people call their boxer girls 'Our little princess' and I want to be someone's princess. Right now I'm in the middle of my heartworm treatment, but in a couple of weeks I'll feel so much better and I'll be ready to start meeting people who want to meet me to see if I could be their own little girl. I'm pretty quiet and almost never bark. I have 3 foster siblings and I get along great with two of them, but one doesn't like me (he has jealousy issues and doesn't like to share Mom and Dad) so I stay away from him. I've also met ... (Read More)other pups (mainly Beagles and Boxers) and my foster Mom says I do really well with them. I'm more interested in my 2 cat friends than Mom would like. She says she doesn't think I would hurt them, but she is a little afraid to let me get too close so maybe I would be better in a cat free home? I'm housebroken and I don't like being crated, but once you get me in one I settle down quickly and take naps. I'm still learning what toys are and before I had my heartworm treatment I would love to do boxer burns in the back yard and when I saw my Mom and Dad I would run to them and prance. I also get excited about going for a walk. I love people and when I don't feel good (or when I'm sleepy) I love to have my head rubbed and I show my approval by giving a cute little sigh. Oh, and have I mentioned I have the prettiest eyes and beautiful face? Mom says I am gorgeous. I promise you that if I become your little girl you will be so happy that I'm yours.     Hello All, My name is Jennifer; my Foster Dad calls me Jenna Wenna or Jenny for short. My Foster Dad tells me that I am a gorgeous flashy fawn Boxer Lady with a beautiful brown coat and gorgeous brown eyes. He tells me I weigh approximately 53 lbs and that I will end up around 60 lbs when I put on some more muscle and some much needed weight. I am a very sweet Boxer lady, well that is what my Foster Daddy tells me. ;-) My Foster Dad tells me I am very loving and that I enjoy giving what he calls endless kisses. So I might go a little over board on the kissing, what do you want? I do stop when asked nicely or when he tells me no ... (Read More)ma'am. %81S Did he tell you that I love to kiss? He says I Kidney bean like crazy when I am excited and when you come home. I love, love, love to play with toys and I like to carry them all over the house. I play with one toy, then another, and another. He calls me a serial toy player. I have some physical challenges that were caused by what we suspect was a car accident. However, my foster Dad says there is no way to know that for sure since no one saw my accident happen. You see, I had x-rays, whatever those things are and they showed I had 3 breaks in my hip area. I have somewhat limited use of my back right leg. I am getting stronger every day and have regained about 60% of the muscle mass in my back right leg. I am pretty sure that is due to love, good food, rest, and a ton of play with The Boxer Gang. My Foster Brothers Sky and John love to play with me. Of course I don't let my hip challenge slow me down. I love to play with my foster brothers and sister and chase them all over the house and yard pretty much every chance I get. I love people and I love snuggling with my Boxer foster brothers and sister. I love to sleep next to my people in bed and I settle down quickly and don't move until my people get up in the morning. I may give a few kisses before I settle down to sleep, what, I like kisses. ;-) I have to go through heart worm treatment for worms, ick what are worms? I don't know what those are but they just don't sound good to me. I will be available for adoption around May 18th. My Foster Dad tells me I mind very well and listen very well if he asks me to stop doing something. I know sit and I am learning some other commands. I am house trained and I will let you know that I need to go out by ringing the poochie bells or hitting my paw against the back door. If that doesn't work, I will sometimes go look for you. Also, I am crate trained and I settle down very quickly after I go into the crate. I am usually sitting nicely when my foster Dad comes home to let me out. That is all for now, I hope to meet you soon. Love Jennifer and The Boxer Gang See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2629 (Less)

'Hey folks! My name is Tripp and I've been with LBR for a few weeks now. When I first got here I was a very sick boy and spent a few days in the hospital recovering from pneumonia. I'm completely recovered and am a happy, silly boxer boy! Foster Mom thinks I'm a complete catch and says I have the best boxer tail ever! I live with 5 foster siblings and get along with them all. I even love to play but they are all pretty old and don't play much. That's ok with me. I know how to relax and hang out too! Although I get along with my foster siblings I am happiest when its just me and Foster Mom. She really wants to find me a home where I can be ... (Read More)the only dog and get all the attention from my family. I'm still a bit silly and don't know my own strength or size so older kids would be best. Every day Foster Mom and I have training time and so far I've learned 'sit', 'down', and even roll over! She says I'm a star student and learn really fast. Food is one of my favorite things ever so it isn't hard to get me to do what you need. I'm even a master at walking on the leash and enjoy our daily 2.1 mile runs. I am completely house trained and know how to use the doggy door. Although I don't want to go in my crate (I mean, who would???) I will follow a treat in every time and am a good boy once I'm in. Now, I know some of you are thinking 'He's a boxer mix??' We are doing a DNA test to confirm what other breeds are flowing through my veins. I have lots of awesome boxer traits - I love my people, I'm happy-go-lucky, easily trained, loyal and a great snuggler. In addition to all those wonderful things I have a huge meat head (Foster Mom says she loves meat heads!) and a very gentle disposition. One thing we know for sure is I'm all LOVE! If you think I may be the perfect match you've been looking for, fill out an application now!! ' See my complete bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2628 (Less)

'Hi I'm Gracie! It's very nice to meet you and thank you for stopping by my page. If you are looking for a sweet 'pocket boxer' who loves to be loved, we are off to a great start. I'm only about 1.5 to 2 years old and I am very small in size but HUGE in personality. I really enjoy being with my family. I would love to find a home that is interested in a little girl who likes to be held or snuggled with. Yes, I said held. For some reason I just love it when my foster dad holds me. I'm under 40 pounds so it's pretty easy. Just think - if you have a hard day at work, you'll come home to me waiting for you with lots of kisses, nub wags ... (Read More)and hugs. That's enough to make even the worst days better - don't you think? I'm excellent in my crate and my foster mom brags that I haven't had one accident since I've been staying with them. I get along very well with my two foster brothers and my foster sister. They are teaching me how to have fun. I have a couple more weeks left until I am out of heartworm treatment. I can't wait to run and learn more about having fun. I do like to meet other dogs but like to do that slowly - so I don't think I would be a real fan of dog parks - they sound like they are a little rough for me. I love to ride in the car and my foster mom says that I am an excellent little passenger. Oh, one more thing - I'm learning some basic commands like sit and down. Well, if I sound like someone you would like to meet, please let me foster mom and dad know. Have a great day - Hugs - Gracie ' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2627 (Less)

I am a sweet and gentle soul, but I still have a bit of spunk in me. I am house and crate trained and I know how to use a doggy door. I will let you know if I need to go outside by 'chuffing'. I am so well behaved that I am free to roam my foster home day and night. I know sit, lay down, come, outside and potty. I would be great with kids or grandkids since I don't jump up and I don't smother them with kisses. I love to be in whatever room my family is in. (Read More)I knew how to play before, but I am learning now. I live with three other boxers and we all get along great. I am interested in those fast furry things called squirrels though, so small furry animals might no be a good idea for me.     Hi! I'm Breezy, and my Foster Mom says I'm the sweetest! I have lots of new friends that I live with, two Pomeranians, one English Bulldog, and two Boxers just like me! I always share my food and water bowl with everyone, and I sit, shake, and lay down on command. I never chew, jump, or climb on people or furniture! I'll be right on your lap or by your side all night if you ask me ...:) I adore snuggling with my Foster Moms 5 year old Grandson and his friends during any slumber party, but I also love my own big furry bed ...:) I never mess in the house and always go to the door when I want out to potty. I'm always excited to go for a walk! I'm not a barker, so Mom never worries about me making to much noise in the house. If your looking for a sweet and gentle little girl, I'm the one! Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Raylan continues to work through medical issues like a trooper. What we know so far is that he is sweet and gentle. He follows us like a shadow. He goes willingly into his crate for treats and meals. He whines a little when crated when no one else is going to be home, but has not tried to escape crate. On the one occasion he was left out loose in the house alone, because our personal had a vet appt., we lost a set of window blinds. However, We leave him outside the crate when our personal boxer is home and not had one problem. He will do great in a forever home with another dog(s). He knows several commands: wait, sit, stay, speak, ... (Read More)lay down, and shake. We are working on 'leave it' and 'come.' His fur is growing in slowly; even on his newly acquired nub. Raylan plays with toys and can jump higher than I stand. He does NOT jump on his humans, just straight up in the air when he is excited. This may be a factor for fence height for an adoptive home. Raylan has chipped canine teeth, but is gentle when playing tug with either his humans or our boxer. He wants to be in the room you are in, but is content to curl up on a blanket or doggie bed. At night 'our pack' sleeps in one bedroom. Dogs on their beds and humans on theirs. Raylan will occasionally sleep at the foot of our bed until he wants to stretch out on his own. We begin heartworm treatment next week and will keep him calm as he heals. He usually follows our boxer's lead and she is very calm, older lady. Raylan loves going for walks and does not pull on leash, unless rabbits or cats pop up. His instinct is to chase, but he will listen to the command to 'stay,' or the occasional 'no, sir!' We have not had the opportunity to test with small dogs, cats, or small children yet. He will be a sweet and loving addition to a forever family. We look forward to getting him healthier and continue to see his boxer spirit continue shining through. See my complete bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2614 (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hey, hey, hey!!! My name is Kojo. I've been told that in some language, Kojo means crippled or broken. That may be true, but I certainly am not broken. Honestly, my foster family picked the name just because they liked the way it sounded. No one really knows what happened to me or why I ended up on the street. The vets are fairly certain that at some point I was hit by a car. When Legacy came to rescue me, my leg was badly broken and severely infected. It was beyond saving, so it was amputated. Guess what? I don't miss it at all! Sure it hurt for a few days. And yes, it took me a few days to get used to it. But once I did, it was like ... (Read More)I'd had 3 legs all my life! I don't want to brag, but I run like the wind!! I can jump and play just like any other dog can. So now that we've got that out of the way, let me tell you a bit about me. I'm about a 12-18 months old, which basically means, I'm an overgrown puppy! I love to play and have tons of energy to burn. I have many foster brothers and sisters here at my foster home and I love them all. I especially love my one foster brother who is about my age. He and I play together all the time. We love to wrestle and play chase me. Because I am still a puppy at heart, when no one is home to watch me I stay in my crate so I can't get into trouble. I'm a very good boy in my crate. I don't have any accidents in it and I stay very quiet. I had a couple of accidents in the house when I first got here, but I think I've gotten the hang of the whole house breaking thing now! I'm working on learning some basic commands and I'm doing well with them. I know what sit means and I will do it sometimes. Truth is, I've just got too much to do and see to sit still for long! LOL Some of my favorite things are cuddling up on the couch with my people and having my belly scratched. I love to play ball. And more than anything, I love to chase that thing they call a laser light. They say I'm obsessed with it! All I can say is, I will catch that thing one of these days. My foster family says I am a really good boy, and not to pat myself on the back or anything, I have to agree with them. But I'll let you decide for yourself. Come meet me and see for yourself what a good boy I am. I promise, you won't regret it! ' See my complete bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2612 (Less)

Hi there, my name is Major and I want to tell you a little bit about myself. I know some of the basic commands, like sit, shake, stay and leave it, but I don't always listen too well right now. After all, I am still just a puppy and would much rather be playing. I am house trained and know how to use the doggie door. I go to my crate when told, but really don't like to. Just give me a minute and I'll tell you how I feel about it, as I also like to talk. I really like to play and my favorite place to be is 'OUTSIDE'! I would stay outside all day if I could and only come in to sleep, drink and eat. I have spent way too much time in ... (Read More)apartments with my previous owner and really need a house with a yard. I also like to eat and will usually only eat my food, but watch out cause I will also eat any socks I can get my paws on! Another thing, I hope you have a nice big king size bed because I really like to stretch out when I'm sleeping. My foster mom & dad say I try to push them off the bed. How do I know, I am asleep after all. When I am inside and not playing, I like to snuggle up next to my skin family. There is this one place that I like to climb on. My foster dad refers to it as 'his' chair and I really, really like it. Sometimes he lets me stay there all by myself and sometimes we share and I get to sit in his lap. It has taken me a while to warm up to the fur kids here. They are okay, but I am just a big ole puppy and want all the attention to myself. I would probably do best as an only dog. It would probably also be best if there weren't any skin kids around that I might accidentally knock over. It's up to you. Please reach out to my foster family if you would like to meet me, as I'm looking forward to meeting you. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, Snowflake here! I'm a beautiful white female Boxer with the cutest brown patch on my right ear. Don't let my snowy white fur fool ya, these adorable ears of mine hear perfectly. Life started out pretty rough for me, but I'm in better hands now. My former owners didn't feed me, despite the fact that I was nursing babies. Finally they dumped me in a shelter with my two remaining puppies, where I was scared and confused...but at least I got food! My foster mom saw me and immediately made arrangements to get me outta there. I came home with her on December 13, 2013. The vet who checked me out said that I was 30-35 pounds underweight, so ... (Read More)Foster Mom & Dad made sure I had warm, yummy meals around the clock to fatten me up. I've done great at filling out my girlish figure, but I still have about 5 pounds to go. I've had my shots, and I'm spayed. While I've been at my foster home, I have blossomed. I have learned to sit, shake, heel, and lay down. My foster mom and dad worked with a trainer to learn just what to do with a sweet girl like me who had never been around other dogs and cats. I don't react much to the cats in my foster home any more, but I'm just a little too curious about those cat creatures to live with them on a daily basis! I do love the company of dog friends. Who says you can't teach a 4 year old dog new tricks?!?! My trainer says I'm one of the most intelligent, easily trained dogs she's worked with in a long time; Foster Mom & Dad agree! I'm the total package: beauty and brains! I'm crate trained, and I have no problems going outside and taking care of business quickly! I enjoy a good cuddle with my foster family and going on car rides. One thing I haven't quite gotten used to are all these toy things lying around...I'm still working on figuring those things out. After 4 months in foster care, my Boxer personality is finally emerging. I've perfected the boxer lean and super fast nub wagging! And I've even started boxing with my favorite canine playmate. I'm a pretty mellow girl...my high energy days are behind me. I'm ready to live out my life as a pampered princess at my furever home. If I sound like your kind of girl, let the folks at Legacy know you'd like a meet and greet with me!      Hi everyone! I'm Elliott, and I'm 9 years young! I am very distinguished and easy going. I love to be wherever my people are. I like to cuddle, but I am definitely a couch hog. My favorite thing is to bury myself in pillows. It's a fun game of 'hide and relax'. I am a big boy, but don't let that scare you- I am a gentle giant. I spend most of my days sleeping, but I love to go for short walks and car rides. I am dog friendly, but I definitely want to spend my time as an only dog. I like to be the center of attention. If you are looking for an easy going boy to join your family, I'm your guy! Let my friends at Legacy Boxer Rescue know. I ... (Read More)hope we can meet soon!     Hey everyone! My name is Memphis and I've been with Foster Mom for a couple of weeks now. It only took her a couple of days for her to fall in love with me though! I am house and crate trained and know how to sit and shake. I also get along great with my 5 foster siblings. In the short time I've been here I have made myself a part of the pack and fit in perfectly. I love to snuggle with Foster Mom and give her sweet hugs all the time. Foster Mom tells me I'm not quite ready to find my forever home. I have heart worms, which means I have to go through treatment for those. She tells me I will be ready around the middle of March. ...     Hi everyone! Meet Legacy foster Ms. Mulligan! When Mulligan first arrived into foster care it was evident she hadn't lived a very good life. She was under weight, scared and had no 'Boxer spirit'. It took a few weeks, but after some regular meals and lots of loving Ms. Mulligan is discovering what the good life is about! This little girl is a prime example of why Legacy does what it does! As Ms. Mulligan continues to come out of her shell her Boxer spirit has begun to return! In fact, we are learning that she's a whole lot of sweet and a whole lot of sassy! In fact, she has earned the nickname 'Ms. Sassy Pants'! Ms. Mulligan loves her daily ... (Read More)walks and does great on a leash! While she's cruising the neighborhood she likes everyone to know she's out and about! Who knew such a loud bark could come from such a little thing! She's also the sweetest little girl that loves nothing more than to be curled up in your lap or next to you on the couch. Each time you walk into the room she'll greet you with the fastest moving Boxer nub you have ever seen! In fact she gets so excited the back half of her body just wiggles and wiggles! Have you even seen what's often referred to as the Boxer Kidney Bean? Well, you haven't seen a kidney bean until you see Ms. Sassy Pants do it! Mulligan is cat friendly and kid friendly but is somewhat selective about her dog friends. Because of this she would prefer to be an only dog. She's crate trained and almost house trained. We're still having a few accidents in the house but that's ok because she's still learning! Ms. Mulligan is looking for her fur-ever home. Her fur-ever family needs to know she's had a bit of a rough life and will need a little love and patience. The positive side to this is she is the sweetest little girl and has a lot of love to give in return! Could this be the girl for you? How can you resist that face? If you would like to meet Ms. Sassy Pants please contact Legacy. See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2592 (Less)

Hi! My name is Marlowe. My foster momma tells me that I am the cutest, little 3yo brindle boxer baby she has ever seen, and I would have to agree!! I'm 45-50lbs. but you wouldn't think so by looking at me. I love to go for car rides and neighborhood walks. My foster momma says I walk on a leash like a pro. I don't pull her at all. I know how to do my 'business' outside like a lady, and I am learning to use the dog door. It can be tricky at first, you know; but I am getting the hang of it. I have this thing called a crate that I sleep in at night and stay in when my foster mom goes to work. I whine at little bit a first because I ... (Read More)just want to be with people, but after a few minutes I get comfortable and will sleep quietly all night. My foster momma lives with 2 other fur-kids that she calls her boys. They are ok, but I think I would rather have her all to my self. I love to sit in her lap while she watches TV at night. I recently went to the vet for a check-up. The nice doctor there said I was a sweet girl, and he is going to help me get ready for my new family. First, I had a little surgery to make sure I wouldn't have any more puppies. Then I have to go and get these yucky worms living in my heart taken care of. I think my foster momma said I would be ready for my new home in April. I know you will love me when you meet me and I can't wait to meet you!!! See my complete bio and more pics here: http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2589 (Less)

Hi my name is Solomon. I am much taller than all of my friends and I always do what I'm told. I love long car rides because I'm a very curious boy. Playing outside brings me a great deal of joy. I get along great with other girls and boys. I don't chew on things except for my furry toys and bones. I really like it when my foster parents give me yummy bones. However, what I really want is a furever home that I can call my own. I'm great with kids because they are easy to kiss. I am very gentle and my parents say I have gentle eyes too.     Hi friends! I'm Athena! I am a spunky boxer girl who loves attention and to play. Don't get me wrong, I love a good snuggle and tummy rub, too! My ideal day would include running around the backyard doing some boxer burns and playing fetch. I visited a family that let me play with a ball in their backyard - woo hoo! I'm about 50 pounds right now and my foster mom says I have great legs. She told me she wishes her thigh muscles were as firm! I'm mostly white, but do have a patch of brown on both my right eye and my right leg. It makes me unique! In my pre-foster home, I got along well with the other dog there, but I'm a little ... I might be best as the first dog in your home so that I can help to pick out any future siblings. I'll have my foster mom add you to the list! xoxo, Athena See my bio here: http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2574 (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hey, hey, I'm Rylo! Thanks for checking me out! My foster mom says I am just the sweetest, little cuddle bug she's ever seen. I guess it's true - I really like snuggling on the couch and I follow my people everywhere. But I can be patient and sit quietly in my crate too. I'm also very petite - probably only about 45 pounds. So if you're looking for a ''pocket boxer'' I'm your girl! I love to go on walks and play with the other two dogs in the house. I used to be scared of them, so would bark and growl at first. However, foster mom and dad showed me that brother and sister wouldn't hurt me. Now, I just play non-stop tug of war with my lab ... (Read More)brother and have boxing matches with my boxer sister. It's tons of fun! Wanna know a secret? I have a special super power! I'm deaf, so I am really attentive and am always watching my foster mom and dad for commands. I also speak a special doggie sign language - wouldn't you like to learn a new language? I promise, it's not very hard and my foster parents will help teach you! I know down, off, sit, come, stay, ''go to bed,'' outside, play time, and food/treat. Pretty good, huh? Mom says that I'm just like any other dog, except I spook a little easier - I mean you would too if you couldn't hear someone coming!! I just jump when you first touch me - I do not try to bite or bark. I eat, play, and act just like everyone else. I do get a little nervous meeting new dogs at first, so I have to have slow introductions with other doggies. As long as you show me the other dog won't hurt me, I just know we'll be buddies! I'm going to hang out at my foster home for a couple months - at least till May or June of 2014, because my foster mom and dad want to get me in tip top condition for my forever home! I used to have these things called heartworms, because whoever had me before Legacy didn't give me the pill to keep those wormies away. But I've finished treatment and am feeling really good. The only thing left is that we are trying to find a food that I am not allergic to. Us fair skinned girls have to watch our complexion and what we eat! I'll be okay though - just takes a little time. Plus, it's always good for us girls to play hard to get. I just know I'll find my perfect family in no time!     Hey Y'all I'm Ben, I'm looking for a someone to be my forever family. I'm a really good boy. I know how to sit when asked. I go in my crate when asked and sometimes on my own just to nap.     Hello my name is Jax. I'm a 4 year old white male that weighs in at 69 lbs. I am not deaf and can hear everything I choose to acknowledge.     Hi there - my name is Dalton and I am a very special, unique guy - starting with my beautiful blue eye - yes just the one. One of my many characteristics that makes me stand out from the rest of the pack. To be honest - I have not had the easiest life up until now but once Legacy found me things have definitely improved and I am slowly realizing that life can once again be good. Now that I have tasted the good life I have decided that this is how I want to live for the rest of my life so I am going to be fussy before just running off with the first family that falls in love with me. Sorry to all my many fans out there - I know I am quite ... (Read More)the catch but that is also why I can afford to be choosy about who I make my forever home with. It has to be as special and unique as me. My perfect home would be my very own mommy who wants a snuggle buddy. I could be the center of your world and will repay you with all my love. All I ask in return is that you be patient with me while I learn to trust you because once I do you will not regret the extra love and time you have given me. I will be your faithful baby boy forever. I am a very calm boy - no need to be barking like a crazy as far as I am concerned so I don't bother doing it. I get on well with the smaller dogs in my foster home but I am selective about making friends with the other boxers that come into my foster home. I prefer the ladies - they love me too! I can be playful when I feel like it and enjoy giving my foster mom lots of boxer beans when I see her - it makes her give me extra loves. I am not a fan of loud, crazy, excitable, noisy situations - another part of my uniqueness. My favorite pastime is lounging on the couch with my foster mom and dad - just the three of us enjoying each other. I am learning to trust their friends and family that visit especially when I see how popular I am with all of them but I still prefer it to be just the three of us. If you think you might be the lucky one I choose, let my foster mom know and she will tell you more about me and arrange for us to meet.     My name is Oslo, just like the capitol of Norway. I am white as the snow on the mountains (except for a little brown forehead patch that is fading into white as I mature). I'm not anywhere near as old as a glacier though. I have a warm personality and have my moments of silliness. I'm a pretty mellow guy overall and napping, eating and snuggling are my favorite activities. I trot around the yard and even slow gallop and my foster mom says it is lovely to watch. I like to roll in the grass, get a little sun while watching my foster mom sit in a lawn chair, and just be with my humans in general. I am a tad hard of hearing (from age) but ... (Read More)I know my name and my nickname 'Little Old Man.' I'm ok with calm dogs and don't take kindly to crazy, wild puppies. I'm crate trained and do woo woo/yodel for a bit, but then I settle down. My most interesting feature is my one handsome eye - I lost the other eye (I wasn't able to tell my foster mom how it happened). It doesn't bother me at all, though I prefer being greeted from my seeing side. I'm best around kids older than 12 who will respect my age and love me. I'm good on the leash and I like my harness. I'd like to meet you and see if there is a spark - Love, Oslo See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available3.php?dogID=2499 (Less)

We chase squirrels out in the back yard on out potty breaks. We aren't sure about cats. My foster mom thinks I would be good with kids. I just want someone to love me .     'Hello everyone, my name is Liv!!!! I am a very energetic girl who LOVES to get attention. My foster mom thinks I was used to breed puppies, so getting attention from my foster family is so wonderful. I am a really sweet girl but I can make it really hard for my foster mom to take pictures of me because I am a wiggle monster and just want her to love on me. I really get a long great with my foster siblings. It took some time for my foster sister and I to agree with each other but we do get along really well now. Just took patience and understanding from everyone in the house. But my foster mom still thinks it is a good idea for me to live ... (Read More)in a home where I am the only female. I also have a 3 year old foster-skin brother that I get along well with and am really tolerant of. I stay in my crate while no one is home because I am a nervous chewer, so my crate is really a good place for me. My favorite time of day is when everyone is home and I can be around the family....and of course when it is time to eat!! :-) My foster mom promised me I will always be okay and have a wonderful new life so she will be working very hard to find me my perfect forever home. Please meet me so you can see how sweet and wiggly I am! I just want to be in a home that wants to love me and pay as much attention to me as they can. Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is Mattie and they think I am about 3 years old and weigh 47#. I have been living with my foster family for three months now. When I first came to live with them I really didn't want anything to do with my two fur brothers and all I wanted to do was fight with them. After a few days, with the help of my foster parents, I finally realized that my fur brothers just wanted to meet me and be friends. We finally started getting along great once I realized that they didn't want to hurt me. I understand my foster parents quite well when they tell me to do something and I wish they were as smart as me so I could tell them and others ... (Read More)about my past life but humans aren't very good at dog language. In light of the fact that they never met me before Legacy picked me up from the shelter it is surprising how much they know about me. It didn't take but a couple of weeks for me to figure out that my foster family was were much happier if I used the potty outside rather than in the house. For that reason and the fact that the only furniture I get on is the sofa my fur brothers are allowed on in their den, they are sure that at some point in my life I was some family's favorite pet. I am really good about going to the door but I must have a weak bladder because if you don't watch and let me out right away I will sometimes still pee by the door. No one knows how but they are pretty sure that I somehow ended up as a bait dog to help some jerk train their pit bulls how to fight, then once they felt I was washed up I was eventually dumped on the streets to die. The part about the bait dog was pretty easy to figure out. All four of my canines are either broken or filed off at the gum line. The bad guys do that so I can't hurt their pit bulls when I am forced to fight with them. The veterinarian says I will probably have to have those teeth extracted at some point in my life. I also had numerous wounds on my body when I was rescued. They found over 250 puncture wounds on my head, shoulders, legs and the front part of my body. I had four open wounds which were infected and according to the veterinarian were too old to suture closed. They had to let them heal naturally which unfortunately left some nice scars. I also have over 100 other scars from older wounds on my head, shoulders and front legs. It is nothing short of amazing how well all those wounds healed however as a result of being so severely injured while fighting, I do have arthritis in my left front elbow which makes me limp after waking up from a nap. Unfortunately the veterinarian says that will be more of an issue for me as I get older. I also have idiopathic head tremors two or three times a week. The Doctor says they are neurological and there is no way to know exactly what causes them. There could be lots of reasons but one the vet mentioned was due to all the puncture wounds on my head. My foster parents have learned that if you hold me and love on me they will usually pass pretty quickly. I apparently didn't get preventative medications during my nightmare because I also had heartworms when I was rescued. I have now been treated and the doc says it should not be an issue for me as long as I stay on heart worm preventative. As a result of the horrible treatment I received before being rescued I was afraid of new sounds (especially loud ones) and any sudden movements. I was also terrified of going through doors. I am better now but I still tremble anytime I meet new people or dogs and I am still easily startled by quick movements or new sounds. I am still a bit afraid of doors as well and often won't go through one unless my foster's go through it before me and let me follow. I have a hard time understanding why anyone would treat me the way they did but I know I am safe now and I absolutely love living in a warm, loving home and having my food on a regular basis. Although I have gone through a lot I am one of cutest and most loving little girls you will ever meet. A lot of boxers think they are lap dogs and love to crawl up and sit in your lap. I'm not much on getting in your lap because it is too confining for me but if you give me the love, affection and attention I deserve I might just crawl into your heart.     Hello Everyone! My name is Jones. If you are looking for a young, potty trained, house trained, smart, and lovable boxer, I'm your girl. I have the best wiggle butt ever; my whole body wiggles when I get excited. I love to run around the back yard with my fur sister, and play tug of war with her; she and I get along great. I don't mind my crate, and I do very well in it, but sometimes, I like to be a stinker and escape from it. But my foster mom has made it so I can't get out, and now I don't really even try to. I am on the small side for a boxer, weighing in at only 45 pounds of pure love. I do like to bark a lot when I don't get enough ... (Read More)attention, and my foster mom is working on that with me. She said that I have gotten much better over the last few weeks. I like to go for walks with my foster mom, but she says I pull on the leash, so she got me this no pull harness thingy, and it seems to be working. I also like to jump a lot, so my foster mom thinks I would do better in a home with kids over 10, I don't mean to knock them down, but somehow I always do, what can I say, I just want to play. I have Heartworms, so I will need to go through Heart Worm Treatment, and then I have 30 days of pure rest and relaxation. Once that is complete, I will be ready for my forever home, probably around the first part of December 2013. Thanks for visiting my page!     Hi! I'm Ernie. Thanks for reading about me. My foster mom says I am the sweetest, goofiest boy. I am very happy and love to hop around in circles when it it time to play. I am friends with everyone and love to be around people and dog friends. My foster mom says I am so cute and unique; my ears stand up and my last ribs for little bumps on my sides. It is just part of me! I love to eat and look forward to every meal, and sometimes my foster sister's meal too. Uh oh. I am healthy and neutered. But one thing about me is that my foster mom and I are working to fix my toenails. When she saw me at the shelter, she saw that I was limping. I have ... (Read More)fungus on my toenails that has made the hard parts of my nails fall off, leaving the quick. It hurts, but I stay happy. Since toenails take so long to grow out, it's hard to know if the medicines that she has been giving me are working, but it will just take time to know. And she said whoever becomes my new family will need to know that I may need continued treatment. Because of my toes, my foster mom thinks I'm not yet ready to go on walks and make my feet hurt. I want to and look forward to seeing more of the world! I would love to meet you if you are willing to help my feet get better. I always repay in love, hugs, and boxer kisses.     Well, I think it's safe to say that we can go ahead and post the 'after' picture of miss Dolce. This little girl is SO different than the skinny, near-dead thing was brought home in August. What was a weak, scared, lost soul has turned into one sweet, active, joyful pup! Dolce is still looking for her forever home, so here's the lowdown on this precious baby girl: Dolce is house trained, knows how to sit, shake and get into her crate when you say 'house.' She is big dog friendly and small dog friendly, cat friendly and kid friendly. And she is a ball of energy! She would ideally do best with someone who either has playmates for her or ... (Read More)enjoys walks and the dog park. She would also benefit from some formal training - we've made great progress and she needs someone to maintain that structure in her life. Sometimes she gets a little vocal when she's excited, so she would probably fare better in a house versus an apartment (at least for the neighbors' sake!) Dolce has finished all of her vetting and is ready to get out and find her fur-ever family. Please contact Legacy TODAY if you are interested in Dolce!     'Hello there - my name is Connery - as in Sean Connery - and I am just as gorgeous as my namesake even if I do say so myself. I have had a long, rough ride to reach the happy place I now find myself in but all that is behind me - nothing but the good life from now on. I am a happy-go-lucky, carefree spirit now and I intend to get as much fun out of life as any one dog can. I have endless energy and love to play with my human family - the rough stuff or the gentle stuff - anything as long as I get to have playtime. After a good play session there is nothing better than snuggling up to one of the family and watching TV. After the difficult ... They have to be prepared to give me lots of attention, endless love and a happy, comfortable furever home. Yummy treats will also go a long way to win me over. But - hey - I am not a selfish kinda guy - in return I will more than amply reward you with tons of Boxer kisses, endless goofy antics and entertainment not to mention my unwavering devotion and loyalty. Now I think that is a pretty good deal, don't you? I do love the little skin kids but sometimes my energy can be a bit much for them and my family has to remind me to tone it down a bit. In fact, they are working on several areas where my manners are not quite what they should be. The problem is, it is just so exciting to be so healthy and happy I sometimes get too enthusiastic and need to be reminded I can have just as much fun being a bit calmer. I would love to have a fur brother or sister that can play with me but - as with the skin kids - sometimes my excitement and energy is a bit much for them to handle so I suppose it would have to be someone who matches my playful, energetic personality. What say you folks - anyone up for the job? If you are interested just let my foster mom know and she will arrange for us to meet so you can experience some of this awesomeness first hand.     Hi my name is Firecracker. My foster mom says my name fits me! I am constantly on the go! I may be a boxer mix but I certainly have the boxer personality. I'm still a puppy and I have a lot to learn like how to walk on a leash, but I do know sit, lay down, shake (with my southpaw), kennel and I am perfectly housetrained. I am eager to learn more, especially if you have treats. I have learned to use the dog door and I love going in and out. I live with 2 other boxers and one that thinks he is a boxer (shh, don't tell him he's not!). I absolutely love to play tug-of-war, mouth joust, wrestle, play tag and of course box. Chasing the squirrels ... (Read More)is pretty fun too. I'm not much of a cuddlier because I'm usually too busy playing. But if you can tire me out enough then I'll cuddle with you. I think I would do best in a home that has another dog for me to play with. I have been known to like cats too, but of course it may depend on the cat. I can't wait to find my forever home and I hope it will be with you! Sooooo, whatcha watitin for??? Call my foster mom!!!     Hello there! My name is Penny and I'm looking for my furever family. I am a 3 year old beautiful flashy boxer. I have a cute little white spots on my neck, and a beautiful Colgate smile. Sadly, I had found myself at a local shelter homeless, confused about why I was there, and feeling unwanted. The good people at Legacy Boxer got me out of the 'Dog prison' as I like to call it and took me to a new foster home. I got a bath and a good nutritious meal and I got to snuggle with my new foster mom. It was like being at the Happiest Place on Earth!! Right now I live with my foster family, and I have two sisters! I have a skin sister which I love ... (Read More)to play and snuggle with. I also, have a fur sister that I share toys and playtime with. My foster mom says that I am one gentle, sweet girl. She thinks that I used to be around kids a lot in the past because of how much I LOVE the kiddos. The first time I saw my skin sister my face lit up and I instantly wiggled my whole body towards her and gave her tons of wet boxer kisses. I love, love, love to give wet boxer kisses. I love everyone and I like to show my love! I would do great in a home with kids, but I can also be alone and do just fine as long as I have someone to love me. I get along great with my furry sister, and we play all the time. My favorite toys in the toy bucket are the ones that squeak, especially the ones that look like little animals. The best ones are the little lizard and the moose! My foster mom thinks that I would likely do best with one other dog so I don't have to share my playtime. I could also be in a home by myself because I can play by myself just fine, but a brother to play with would be wonderful. I don't pull on my leash much when we are out on walks but I am still learning to walk in a straight line. My foster mom says I like to zig-zag walk as if I was trying to dodge a bullet. What can I say? I watch too many action movies! I am crate trained, but I don't like it in there much. She is also teaching me new tricks, but I only do them when she has something yummy to give me. I like to get rewarded for my hard work since I am new to these things!!! My foster mom says I have to go through Heartworm Treatment to get rid of those nasty little wrigglers before being able to go to my furever home. My perfect furver family would be someone that will appreciate my wiggles, kisses, snuggles, and my sweet character. Someone that above all will love me, respect me, cherish me, and cares for me for the rest of my life. Because I will love you unconditionally, and will always be extremely happy to see you get home whether you have been gone for hours or just 5 minutes. FOSTER MOM HERE: 11/11/2013 Update- Penny will probably be ready for adoption around Christmas Time! We have to figure out a few little things before she can go to her furever home! Thank you for your patience! If you would like to meet me and would like some boxer kisses you can contact my friends at Legacy Boxer rescue.     Lady is a bundle of fun, house-trained, crate-trained and a happy, happy girl. There may be a little snow on the roof but, she keeps up with my 1 year old puppy and, give him a run for his money....wrestling, mouth jousting and the like. And, with age comes experience too. For example, she's never jumped on me and she seems to consistently understand & respond to many rather vague commands with pointing hand gestures, like 'Out of the kitchen.', 'Go lay there (pointing at the foot of the bed, when she's at the head)'. . . .stuff like that. She's not at all overweight but is large for a female.....and she delights in her food. When I'm ... (Read More)making her meals, she prances, barks and jumps in place....madly wiggling her nub the whole time too mind you. She's been good with all the other dogs at my house and, even my problem male likes her too. She's not tried to bother my parrots at all, nor my little Chi doggies. I don't have children in the house but, I'm sure she'd do good with them because she has such a good temperament, is not jumpy and has displayed absolutely no guarding or aggression issues. Lady (aka Frilly Lady Bug) is just a big ole, sweetheart . . . looking for a family to love her as much as she will love them. Could that be your family?     Hi Everybody! Foster mom says I'm such a PRINCE of a pup that they actually named one after me! I will make my first official debut this Saturday at the Pet Fair in Hurst to meet my adoring fans...a little more about me until foster mom finishes helping me write my bio would be that I am a VERY Silly boy who is curious about everything! Foster mom says if I ever grow into my feet, I will be KING of the boxers 'cause I'm a handsome brute. I am deaf but in my case that's nothing... Mom says sometimes hearing can be so overrated but that you can hear without your ears.. which makes no sense.... She says deaf pups can hear people's souls and ... (Read More)know how to interact. But I am so smart that I watch everything my foster fur siblings do, especially my older deaf sibling who knows sign language. I stay right by foster mom cause apparently she's in charge and she has treats. I'm good at fetching (balls and bras are my favorites!) I love standing on top of things like patio tables to survey my kingdom at least until foster mom signals for me to get down (she says my kingdom isn't THAT big & I can't be up there long ) If you have a cookie, I'll trot right into my crate for a nap but I really prefer being where the action is. Foster mom says we are working on the basics and before long, I'll have two languages; both spoken words and signs to communicate with you!! I would be happy to meet and play bow for you and find a bigger kingdom of my own to call home! See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2402 (Less)

Hi. I'm Tara. Thanks for reading about me. I may be a little older then some of the other kids at LBR that you may read about, but I still have so much energy and love to give. I have learned that squirrels can run really fast when I chase them, and birds are pretty fast too! I am around 7 years old and have a little grey in my face, but don't let that fool you. I like to play with some toys and I love to chew! I will spend hours sitting next to you and contently chew on my bone. I like other dogs but I am self assured and will stand up for myself if I need to. I don't have the energy of some of those youngsters, so I don't think I ... I really want to be with you, to be rubbed, and be part of your family. I'm also very gentle with kids. I finally finished my treatment for something my foster mom called heartworms. But now I feel great and I'm ready to find my new home. If you have some room in your heart and home for an older, sweet, gentle girl with a bunch of love left to give, please ask to meet me!     Sir Washington is a very distinguished gentleman. He is rather large in size, has the cutest crooked tooth that always sticks out and is a very good and sweet boy. He likes to be outside and bask in the sun and spend time sniffing out what life has to offer. He is a gentle giant - he is not jumpy, but he can get excited and lick you like crazy! He is still playful but overall he is very calm and just likes to enjoy a good dog bed now and then.     Hey there! My name is Cleverley! I am the wiggliest little girl you will ever meet! I have been with my foster family since June, and boy, am I having fun. There are two big boxer boys and a smaller boxer girl here that I love to play with and the dog beds are great too! While I love my friends here, I do need time to get to know new doggy friends when I first meet them. My foster parents have introduced me to everybody with a crate introduction, and after not too long, I am good to go! I weigh in at 56 pounds. I am amazing in my crate, I go right in with no protests and just curl up for a nap. I am great in the car and walk well on a ... (Read More)leash. My favorite thing is to give kisses. I also love to be petted and curling up next to my foster mom on the couch. I had to get healthy the first couple of months I was with my foster family; I had to get spayed, have a couple of lumps removed, and have heart worm treatment. All that is behind me now and I am as good as new! I am also so ready for what my foster mom calls my 'furever' home. She told me about it, and it sounds amazing! I can't wait to have a family to call my own and be loved forever. If I sound like your kind of girl, let my foster mom know, I hope to meet you soon!     '4-1-2014 Well HI everyone!!!! I'm Darbi!! My foster mom said it's time to tell you all about me! As you can see, I'm a very cute white boxer girl with an adorable brown patch on my left eye (if I do say so myself!). My foster mom also discovered that I am deaf and I am SO HAPPY that she did!!! She is teaching me signs and I am learning FAST--it is so amazing to be able to ''talk'' to my human and understand what is expected of me!! Let's see.....I know the signs for ''crate,'' ''wait,'' ''come here,'' ''no,'' ''look at me,'' ''go to sleep,'' ''eat,'' ''go potty,'' and ''sit.'' It took a little while for me to realize that my foster mom was ... (Read More)talking to me. You see, my foster mom is pretty sure that my previous owners didn't realize I was deaf and maybe thought I was just being stubborn, so it's possible they weren't very nice to me because they didn't realize I couldn't hear them. BUT, that's all behind me now and life is going to be awesome from now on! I'm a very good girl in my crate--I go right in and just sleep the day away until you come home (I eat in there too!). I am housetrained and have had no accidents in the house. My foster mom is working on teaching me to ring the bells on the door to let her know when I need to go out--it's a work in progress, but for now I know that I can also just walk around and stare at her and she gets the idea. It's good that I have my foster mom trained! I'm not much of a barker, but I do like to look out the window and if I see any suspicious activity in the neighborhood, I will let you know! I'm good with walking on my leash also, but I really prefer to use my harness because it is more comfy! I am very good with meeting new people--I jump up a little bit, but once they give me the sign for ''no'' I remember my manners. Because I am deaf, my foster mom says no kids under 10, just so I am not startled by little feet and hands possibly running up to me when I am asleep or surprising me when my back is turned. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to meet new people and I so hope that you want to meet me!! Contact the great people at Legacy Boxer Rescue to set up a meeting with me!!     'Hi there! My foster mama named me Petunia, because I'm a pretty little girl...just like a flower! I am just a tiny little girl at 37 lbs, which makes me the perfect size to fit in your lap! Which is my preferred place to be. My foster parents don't think I've ever lived inside before, so I am soaking up the good life of laying on the couch snuggling with my foster mom and my foster siblings. I haven't quite figured out that when my foster brother, the big ole meathead, starts barking and jumping up and down in my face that he just wants to play....so I just look at him and run back to mamma. But I have started to figure out that I ... (Read More)can make him run in the backyard. I have a kitty sister that I just love to sit and watch. I want to play with her, but she hits and hisses, so I tend to stay out of her reach! I have to go in to get rid of the nasty worms I have living in my heart, then I will be ready for my very own forever home!!!! I'm still working on the 'potty oustide', but I'm getting much better. I sleep in my crate at night and during the day when my foster parents are working. I'm not a huge fan of the crate, but settle down in just a few mins, then all you hear from me is my beautiful snoring. So, if you're looking for a pretty little well behaved calm boxer to snuggle with, I'm your girl! Let my foster mom know if you would like to know more about me, or would like to meet me. Please check back often, as my foster mamma will be updating my progress. Lots of boxer nub wiggles and kisses!     Please leave Cole's bio as it is and just add this notice to the top: *** Cole is not ready for adoption at this time. He has been seen by a local dog behavior specialist. Cole has developed some issues that the specialist feels needs attention before he is adopted. We do not currently have an estimate as to when he might be ready for adoption. He's working very hard on his exercises given to him by the specialist. *** Hi everyone! I'm Cole. I'm a typical 2 year old male boxer. I L.O.V.E. to play! Me and my foster home's resident boxer love to play together. When Foster Daddy gets down on the floor and plays with me, we have great ... (Read More)fun. I have a lot of energy to burn so I need to find a forever family with a young boxer playmate for me. We'll be best friends, I promise. I can see it now. We'll spend our mornings playing chase and boxing in the yard, then we'll come inside for a round of tug-of-war, followed by some lazy afternoon mouth jousting. It'll be great! I'm an active 2 year old boy and need exercise. If I'm going to be crated for the work day, I need to burn off some energy before going in my crate in the morning. I can comfortably run about 2 miles at a 9.5 minute pace when it's cool outside. In the warm summer months, I'm more of a 1 mile guy. Walking, even twice a day, doesn't burn off enough energy for me to be a good boy. When I'm properly exercised, I even have an 'off switch'. I like to join the family on the couch for some reading or TV time. I'll pick a lap, lie down, and serenade you with the sounds of my breed%BD%BD%BDsnoring. Foster Mama says I have to go to a family without anything small and furry running around. Something about having a 'prey drive' or something like that. Don't listen to her. I'm perfect. I'm a dog, I like to chase the small furry things. What's the problem? I'm a very smart dog and highly treat motivated. I'm spectacular in my crate. I don't even need a treat to go in, though if you're offering, I won't say no. I sit and stay for my food bowl until I'm released with 'OK'. I sit for you to throw my toy. When it's walk time, I sit for my harness and sit for the door until I'm released. I'll even keep my nubbin on the ground when the door is open. No moving until 'OK', those are the rules. I'm pretty decent on a leash with a no pull harness. I'm best walked on a route with no bunnies due to that prey drive thing Foster Mama was talking about. I'm learning 'heel' and 'leave it' to help with the bunnies on my walks. I'm learning pretty fast! See me in action! Visit me on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu6vXovX3XF-cKl9RREUU0w) to watch me boxing, playing chase, and mouth jousting! If I sound like your perfect forever dog and best friend for your resident boxer, please let your adoption councilor know you would like to meet me.     Hi, my name is Katniss! My foster family thinks I am a Princess (don't tell them, but I am!) I am a beautiful girl with wonderful manners and I love people. Big or small, doesn't matter to me. I will wiggle my tail and lift my paw and let you look into my big, brown, soulful eyes if you get close to me. I'm my family's first foster and they couldn't have asked for a better one! I'm housetrained, crate-trained, and know sit and how to come. I also know shake! We're working on down - I'll do it if you promise to rub my tummy! I'm also learning how to play fetch. I love to go for walks with my harness on and do very well with a ... (Read More)little directions (and treats help too!) Did I mention that I'll do just about anything for a treat? I am selective about doggie friends - I need proper introductions (and treats) to help me learn not to be afraid of them and growl. I play well with my foster sister Libby, and I did well with a foster sitter's entire four dog pack too! But my foster mom says I should be an only dog - after all, I AM a Princess and deserve all the attention! My foster parents say whoever adopts me has to be the cream of the crop, but I don't need cream - just lots of love and adoration! I'm spayed and finished my heartworm treatment. My perfect home will be someone who is home all day and can let me outside (or is willing to train me to use a doggie door). I'm a sweet girl, well mannered and loving. If you'd like to meet me, just let someone at Legacy know. I'm waiting for YOU, perfect family! I know you're out there.'     Hey guys and gals....I'm Maurice. My foster parents thought it would be a good idea for me to tell you a little about myself (as if my amazing pictures weren't enough) so I agreed. Have you ever had an extremely hyper dog that you were scared to leave alone and worried to let out with your children because you weren't sure how they would act? Or have you ever seen someone walking a dog but it looked like the dog was walking them because it was pulling so hard? (Read More)sit, walk on a leash, stay, behave when left alone, go to my crate when you tell me and will not get on the furniture or jump up on anyone. I am very well behaved and love to watch skin kids play and have them love on me. I didn't learn all of this overnight, it took me a while to understand how to be the best dog ever but I have it licked now. I am a little older than a lot of the dogs on here, but still have a lot of time to love on you if you will let me. I don't qualify for the senior coffee at McDonald's, but do qualify for best behaved do in the neighborhood. I have grown up a lot, but know I still have some growing to do. I don't feel like I have to hide under the bed all the time. I have a nice crate that I can go into to de-stress if needed. And when mom and dad go to work, I go into my crate without a argument. I walk well on a leash, and will go outside with mom and dad on my own. I still have to do things on my own time, but mom and I play a lot in the evening when she gets home from work. If she doesn't realize it's play time, I get up on the couch and cry. Sunday mornings it all about a short tussle on the bed, then the cuddles. Mom is now focused on teaching me basic commands, and getting me out in the public.     Hi! I'm Milka and I am the friendliest, wiggliest boxer ever! I love my people and giving kisses is my favorite thing. I have a tail and it never stops going, I am a very happy girl. I am great in my crate, all my foster parents have to say is, go in your house and off I go. I live with four other dogs here, and I think they are all great! I am not good with introductions to new dogs. I take a couple of days to get comfortable with new dogs, so my foster mom thinks I would do best as an only dog or in a home that would be able to give me the time to adjust to a new fur friend. I weigh about 56 pounds, I am great in the car and good on ... (Read More)the leash and love to go for walks. I am 100% potty trained, I don't have any accidents in the house or my crate. If I sound like your kind of girl, I would love to meet you! To see her complete bio, visit http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2089 (Less)

Hello dahling, my name is Zsa Zsa and it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm a sophisticated lady looking for that fairytale ending we all dream of, it's out there I just know it! I'm about 5 years old, so all that young puppy stuff is behind me. Are you looking for a house trained, crate trained, snuggle bunny to keep you warm at night? Look no further, Zsa Zsa is here! I currently live with several other lovely ladies and we get along just fine, but it's much more fun to be the center of attention. As far as children go, I prefer the older ones because I'm a curvy girl who might knock the little guys over. I like to spend my days being spoiled ... (Read More)and pampered by my people, if you rub my ears and stroke my soft fur I'll be your best friend. Are you looking for an elegant, sophisticated, refined lady to add to your family? Zsa Zsa is the one you've been waiting for, so let's do lunch. Call me, dahling! Zsa Zsa thanks Jenny Froh Photography for donating her time and talent to help.     Hello there, my name is Zia! It means splendor or light, and I bring lots of it to my foster home. I meet everyone at the door with my ears perked up and my whole body wiggling with excitement, I love to have people come over for a visit! My favorite thing in the world is to go for a walk or a ride in the car, I love to see the world and everyone in it. Like any respectable lady I've got excellent manners and perfect people skills, what more could you ask for? I am a middle-aged girl at about 5-6 years old, but there's plenty of life and spunk left in me don't you worry. I'm queen bee at my foster home, you see I've been a mama dog many ... (Read More)times and I always have to make sure that everyone is in line doing as they're told. I love children and really enjoy following them around and watching them as they play, just like a good mama should. I'd love to find a forever home with some kids just for me! I'm friends with the other dogs in my foster home, but I'm perfectly happy to be the princess and the center of attention. I prefer the couch or bed as opposed to my crate, but I promise to be a good girl and leave things just as you left them. Any good hostess meets her guests at the door with a smile and a hug, that yucky crate just cramps my style so please just leave me out to rule my roost while you're away! If you'd like to add some light to your life, let the nice people at Legacy know that Zia is the girl for you. I promise to meet you every day with a hug, smile, and my extra-special wiggle!     Howdy! Name's Wylie, nice to meet ya! I'm an older guy who loves life and still has plenty of energy left, so don't let this gray face fool you. I can run and bounce around just like any young whipper-snapper, come on over and I'll show ya. I'm about 11 years young and have plenty of stories to tell, just look into my big brown eyes and you'll see that I've been around the block a time or two. Speaking of the block, I really enjoy my daily walks and have perfect leash manners. I love to see the sights and take time to smell the roses. There are a couple of other dogs in my foster home and they're okay, but I'd much rather have my people ... (Read More)all to myself. I've spent 11 years sharing my attention, I don't think some special snuggle time is too much to ask for! Children are cute and all, but since I'm getting on in years I'd probably to better with older kids who will respect my space and leave me alone to enjoy my naps and quiet time. One of the many great things about adopting an older gentleman like myself is that I'm already house trained, crate trained, and know all the basic commands. What's not to love? I love having people come over to visit, I've got a great wiggle and a million dollar smile. Won't you come over and meet me? We can go for a nice walk and afterwards I'll tell you one of my special stories! I've got all kinds of time to kill and there's nothing else I'd rather do than spend it with you.     Well hello there, my name is Winston. It's a pleasure to meet you! I'm a big ol' teddy bear looking for his forever family after my first one decided they didn't want me anymore. I'm a happy go-with-the-flow kind a guy though, so I'm perfectly content to be just about anywhere as long as I have people who love me. I'm a good guard dog and take my responsibility very seriously, I always make sure you know when someone is at the door and when the mailman comes to drop off any goodies for you. There might be something in there for me, you know! I've always lived with other dogs and get along great with everyone. I used to live with kids ... (Read More)too, my whole face lights up when I see them. I would do better with kids that are a little bit older, you see I'm a bigger boy and might knock the little ones over, but I mean no harm! I like to think I'm full of marshmallow fluff because I'm as sweet as they come. I love to play with toys and fetch like a champ, so if you have some older kiddos I'd love to romp around the backyard with them. I'm about 7 years young, so I know how to potty outside, stay in my crate while you're gone, and I will even sit and shake for a treat! I know, I know... I'm a pretty fun guy! So you think you might want to have me join your family? I'd love that! Just let my foster dad know and I'll be over in a jiffy. It's a date!     Want to meet the best kept Secret here at Legacy Boxer Rescue? Miss Secret is a very special girl. She is super sweet and loves her foster momma time. She is the best cuddler and loves to get up on the couch with you and hang out. When she first came to my house, she was scared of just about everything and had to learn how to be a dog again. In the time she has been here, she has learned to go outside to potty (with a doggie door), go in her crate with the point of a finger, and play with toys. Although she gets along great with her fur-siblings, it takes her a while to get used to new dogs. Secret has never chewed on anything in my ... Secret would love to go to a home where she had a brother to keep her company and parents that will let her curl up in the bed. This special girl has wiggled her way into my heart and I know she will do the same to you. Secret can't wait to meet you!      'Hi, my name is Miranda! I am a nine year old flashy brindle senior girl with a lot to offer someone who will love me just as I am. My foster Dad and Mom call me Randa for short and I like that! My foster dad tells me I have something called a sweet soul. Don't know quite what that means, I just know I love him and my foster mom bunches!     Howdy y'all, Carney here! If you're trying to figure out where my name came from, I was named after the song 'Carney Man' by Cross Canadian Ragweed. Foster mom really loves that band and says the black under my left eye reminds her of clown make up. I've been at my foster mom's house for a few weeks and so far I love it here! I've got a fur sister named Ellie and her and I love to play together. She even uses me as a pillow sometimes and I don't mind at all. I share just about everything with her and am happy to do so. I am a little stingy with my food but I didn't always have food to call my own so I want it all to myself. Can you blame ... (Read More)me? I haven't always had nice people around me so it takes me a while to warm up to strangers. I try to scare them by barking but really I'm the one that's scared. Foster mom is helping me learn that people are good just like her. I am a deaf dog, but I don't let that hinder me at all. I am very smart and have been learning hand signals from my foster mom. I've got sit down really good and am working on down, off, come, and potty. She's been trying to convince me to go into a crate but I think she is CRAZY for wanting me to go in there but I am a LOT better at it now. I'm sure I'll eventually get used to it, but for now I'd rather be curled up next to foster mom or in a warm bed outside of the crate. Once I get settled in a little better I'll send out an update on me. Be sure to check back soon! To see his complete bio, visit http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2020 (Less)

Howdy friends! My name is Bogart and I am a laid back kind of guy! That is just the way I roll. When Legacy Boxer Rescue found me, I was in bad shape. I had one large mass hanging from my chest and one on each hip. I was very underweight and just tired from the path I was on. LBR took me in and got me well and all fixed up. I have a lot of life scars on my body, but you would never know by my heart. It is big and I love unconditionally at all times. I will be your best friend and your biggest fan. I am a big boy now and I like to eat. I like to sleep and just be by your side. I live with two other dogs and I have two kiddos. The dogs are ... (Read More)okay but I love my kids. I would probably be better with kids over ten since I am so big. I am not very active, but a good walk is okay and it gets me out so I can patrol the neighborhood. Just ask for Bogey if you are looking for a big laid back boy to spend time with. I know we will be best pals in no time! Woof Woof!     'Update: Biff has been doing very well in his foster home. He came to LBR as a stray, very emaciated and overall in poor shape. It quickly become obvious that Biff had had no training and very little socialization before he came to LBR, but luckily he never lost his boxer spirit. With lots of patience, training and TLC Biff has come a long way. He is your typical happy boxer. He loves his people and wants nothing more than to be by your side and please you. He is now potty trained and crate trained and does great on a schedule. Biff's energy level is on the low side and doesn't require a lot of exercise; however, in typical boxer ... (Read More)form, he does need to do a few boxer burns in the backyard at least once a day to get that pent up energy out. Biff is on the submissive side so he would probably do best in a home with another fur sibling to help him with his confidence. If you think Biff would be a great addition to your family please give us a call.' To see his complete bio, visit http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2036 (Less)
