Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'My name is Zlatan, nice to meet you! I am 3 years old and was an owner surrender to the shelter when my family was moving. I am settling into my foster home and love playing with my foster fur brother. We play day and night and have lots of fun. I was very skinny, so I am working on gaining some weight. I also have a fear of new people. When I see people I do not know, I bark at them. I am working with my foster family and a trainer to feel more comfortable with seeing and meeting new people. I am unsure how long it will take and how well I will do when all is said and done. For now, we are holding off on meet and greets until ... Animal ID: 17047Damon (male)

Bulldog    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi guys my name is Damon. My foster parents tell me that they named me after a pretty awesome guy, so I was cool with them changing it. Now I know what you're thinking ''He doesn't look like a boxer!!'' Technically I'm an English Bulldog but my sister was a boxer and my previous family needed to find us both a home so the nice people at LBR decided I could be an honorary boxer. Since they told me that I've started working on a kidney bean greeting to people and a butt wiggle like my sister use to do. Unfortunately my frame wasn't built for either of those two things so you'll just have to be happy with my adorable squishy face. I lived ... (Read More)the last few years outside and my foster parents tell me that being a Bulldog outside was the worst place for me. Right now I have a few medical issues that my foster parents are trying to get under control. Apparently all these wrinkles and living outside weren't good for me. They also tell me that I have a few typical Bulldog behavioral issues that need to be corrected before I'll be ready for adoption. My foster dad has nick named me Sir-Humps-A Lot but I'm not sure why. He tells me that most people don't like to be greeted that way. My foster parents tell me that I'll probably be ready to start looking for a forever family sometime around April if they can get my medical issues under control so keep checking back if you'd like to meet me. My foster parents say that they'd really prefer my forever family to have previous Bulldog experience because a typical boxer family won't like all my shenanigans. Whatever they're taking about.' Boxer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hello everyone! Granny has been with LBR for about a month now and is the sweetest little boxer girl ever! She is a very petite girl (what we refer to as a pocket boxer) and weighs about 44 lbs. She gets along great with every dog she meets. Granny doesn't know any commands, but she gives the cutest face when you ask her to do something which is better than things like ''sit''! She is house trained and likes having a dog door to go in and out as she pleases. Granny spent her life before LBR living outside and it didn't take her long to learn to enjoy the indoors. She is a dream foster; so very easy to take care of. Granny is on a ... (Read More)prescription food called I/D because she had an acute pancreatitis attack. She has done very well since starting on her new food and will need to continue to be on it. She has several masses on her and will be having surgery soon to remove the most troublesome of those. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi y'all! My name is Django and I am finally unchained! I spent several months in the shelter (since october) until Legacy was able to snatch me up! I am really into getting loved on and belly rubs, treats are amazing too! I have had sometime to get to know my foster mom and so far she thinks I am such a sweetheart. In full disclosure, I was surrendered because my previous family thought I bit a toddler. After investigation it was not necessarily a bite; the toddler was in my face and when i was trying to get away I think I scared her. Also, my mom doesn't believe I am FULL blooded boxer, I act like one and look very close to one but my ... (Read More)build is shorter and little more stocky so in case you aren't interested in a mix I wanted to let you know now. I can't wait to find my forever home to love on me. I think kids would be cool if they were little older; they drop food and could give me a bunch of attention and I like that a lot! If you are interested in getting to know me more please reach out to your adoption counselor! I am going to the vet to see if I have nasty heartworms and if I do, Legacy will get rid of those for me before I go to my new home. If you are looking for a sweet loving babe, I am your man! Animal ID: 15695Kolache (male)

Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Kolache remembers what it is like to be part of a family and to be loved. He had that once. He had a family with a skin sibling and a fur sister. He had food in his belly and a roof over his head. As the family's circumstances changed though, so did Kolache's and outside he went. For the first year, he spent his days outside with his fur sister and they came in at night. The second year they were no longer allowed to come inside at all. Then his fur sister got adopted. Kolache was left all alone, in the sun, the wind, and the rain for the next 8 months. He only got about half of what a boxer needs to eat a day. But he's inside now and will ... (Read More)be for the rest of his life! Kolache is a sweet, gentle soul who remembers how to be a well behaved house guest. He is calm and doesn't jump or counter surf or get on furniture. Instead he leans. When you bend down to give him attention and loves, he will slowly put his body next to yours and lean in. Like every boxer he enjoys a good butt scratch, but what he likes the most is to have his chin and neck rubbed. Once you hit the spot with just the right amount of pressure he will let happy boxer snort/sigh. Is there a better sound than happy boxer? He will occasionally help himself to a little snack from the food bag, but he has been hungry for a long time so his foster home kind of gives him a pass. Kolache has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which is very treatable with inexpensive medication. He struggles with excessive thirst and urination, but we are hopeful that the medication will alleviate that considerably. He looks a bit worse for wear after being outside for so long, but we are also hopeful that the thyroid medication will get him glossy again. He just started the medication and it will take 30 days to make sure we have the dosage right; he will be available for adoption after we have confirmed he is at the right level. He takes his pill easily with peanut butter. If you need a buddy to lean on and an empty dog bed that needs to be filled, Kolache might be your dude. Contact his foster home and let the happy snorts commence!     Hi, my name is Rousey! I was named for Rhonda Rousey, but I'm am definitely a lover%BD'%BD|not a fighter. I'm a 5-6 year old white female boxer and I hear everything. I'm quite petite at less than 50 pounds. My mom says I have the best smoosh face ever. I mean%BD'%BD|am I cute or what? At night, I wait for my mom to put a blanket around my shoulders, then I fold up my legs like a calf and snuggle into my bed. And I love to give gentle kisses. I am house trained (I even wake my mom if I need to go out at night), crate trained (I am quiet as a mouse in my crate), I use a dog door, I wait my turn for treats, and I walk well on a ... (Read More)leash. I know sit and down, and I am learning off and come. I love my foster fur siblings, and I like to play non-stop! My mom says I definitely need a fur playmate. I haven't been around kids yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll like them. I am the happiest girl in the world. Anytime you look at me, talk to me, or pet me, my body wiggles constantly. I am just so happy to be in the company of friends! Unfortunately, I have some nasty worms in my heart that we have to take care of%BD'%BD|..so I won't be available for adoption until late January. Until then, you can just look at my cute pictures as much as you want.     'Lovely Jazz was a stray when the shelter received her. She obviously had a home at one time because she is very well house trained and she does not chew on anything lying around other than toys. She is absolutely the sweetest butt wiggling, nub wagging boxer and LOVES to be right with her humans at all times. Jazz did have some lumps removed during her foster time and had her teeth worked on but now she is in excellent health. She loves taking walks and being active but she can also be just as happy lying around all day with her humans. She is excellent in her crate. From what we have seen, Jazz prefers to be an only dog. Animal ID: 16490Cracker Jacks (male)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, my name is Cracker Jacks, CJ to my friends, but I am actually the prize found inside the sweet package known as LBR. I'm a medium-sized fellow weighing in at about 68 lbs. and am probably heading towards two years old. As you can tell by my photos I'm a flashy brindle but what you can't tell is I have a flashy personality and enough energy to be known as 'The Flash'. I can leap 6' high and play fetch for the longest time, if you can. With all my energy my foster family is working with me on all sorts of commands and relaxation techniques. I am a great sitter and fetcher, I now release on command, and I'm working hard on the commands ... (Read More)off, stay, down, leave-it and come. I also get to go on walks, a couple of miles in distance, where I practice my heal command. I need a lot of reminding, in the beginning of my walks, but usually get to being in position, on my own, by the end of the walk. I'm learning but with all my energy I'll need continued training to keep me settled and focused. I definitely need my off command as I tend to being a jumper but I've already reduced that urge by about 75% and listen pretty well to my foster family when they command me off something. I get along great with my foster boxer brother and sister. We play and run together in the backyard and we sometimes sleep together on the dog couch. I usually stay in my crate when my foster family is away but they have recently let me sleep outside the crate at night. I like to play with stuffed toys, rope or nyla-bones, and rubber bones that I play fetch with these days. I need one of my durable toys in my crate or I might chew on my blanket or bed. My foster family is working with me not to chew on non-toy things when I get bored. I used to play with tennis balls but they say I get too obsessed over my tennis balls and so now I don't ever see tennis balls, but I play fetch with my rubber bones and I chase after them and release them on command. It is great fun for me. I am a healthy fellow who is Heartworm negative. In a few weeks I should be available to go meet people. If you think I might be a possible match for your family why don't you have your people call my people and we'll make a date.     'This pretty girl has a new name to go with her new life. Meet Fritzi! She's a sweet 3 - 4 year old boxer girl that somehow found herself in the shelter. She has been to the vet and had her checkup. She is now spayed (no more puppies) and heartworm negative - Yay! Her foster parents have already learned that she's dog friendly and that she LOVES people. She follows them wherever they go, being sure to stick close and watch everything that they do. She doesn't seem to know any commands, but she's a smart girl and will learn quickly. She needs to gain some weight and when she does, she'll be on the medium to large size. Probably in ... (Read More)the 60 - 65 lb range. She's already put on a few pounds and weighs in at 61 lbs. During her vet visit, the vet found a small lump and removed it. There were some mast cells present, but it was a grade 1 with good margins, which is the best possible news. She's on benadryl twice a day for 6 weeks. As with ALL boxers, any lump or bump will need to be looked at by the vet. Fritzi is not a fan of cats, so absolutely no cats in her new home. Fritzi's favorite thing to do is to be upside down. If you have the time and a spare hand, she's always willing to go belly up for a good belly rub. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Fritzi is good with other dogs as long as they are calm and laid back. She prefers to be the boss, so her doggy friends need to be submissive and let her be the Queen of the castle. 12/31/2016 UPDATE: Fritzi will be available for adoption in August or September of 2017. We recently learned that she has two torn ACL's and will require two separate surgeries to repair the damage. Each surgery has a 12 -16 week recovery time. Please check back for updates.'     'Hi friends, my name is Hurley and I'm looking for a forever family. I'm very much still a boxer puppy and have lots of energy. I like my toys, I enjoy chewing on things, and I love other FEMALE dogs. Mom says I don't play well with other boy dogs. Mom says some people are worried that white boxers can't hear, but I can hear everything! I like to be by moms side most of the time, but I am content with laying on my bed and napping or chewing on a toy. I get VERY excited when I meet new people , but, but I'm working on not jumping...I think I'm a good jumper! She says I hop like a jack rabbit in the back yard. I don't mind my crate too ... Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Orlando. My Foster home says 'Orlando' means 'spunky, toy-loving, crazy Boxer-spirited boy'. That's exactly what I am%BD'%BD| with whipped cream and a cherry on top! Let's get the basic hubbub out of the way, shall we? I am crate trained (a yummy treat helps me go in easy). I am a very strong boy. I could easily knock down small children, so any kiddo's in the home should be 14 or 15 years of age or older. I am a pretty smart fella! I'm learning 'SIT'. I know 'OFF!' mainly because I like to counter surf and put my paws on you for kisses and loves. And, I'll be honest with you%BD'%BD| I'm learning 'LEAVE IT' ... (Read More)because I love to pick up anything left on the floor (or in the trash can) that maybe you wouldn't want me to have, such as shoes, clothes, ear buds, Kleenexes, TV Remotes (it's a pretty long list), etc. Don't let this scare you away, though. I am easily redirected with fun dog toys%BD'%BD| I love to play with anything you give me. Fetch is a pretty fun game, too! At two years old I am ALL puppy. My foster mom says I have the best woo-woo-'s she's ever heard and they make her heart melt. I woo-woo when I'm happy or excited or when it's time to eat. I even woo-woo with a toy in my mouth! I love attention and giving kisses. You already know that I love toys. I like to stay b-u-s-y because I have a ton of Boxer energy! I definitely need a fur brother or sister because I love to mouth joust and wrestle so they should be about my size or bigger. I'd get too lonely without a fur sibling and I may end up crying in my crate. The most important thing that you should know about me is%BD'%BD| wait! Is that a new ball? Gotta run%BD'%BD| Catch ya later! Please note that Orlando is currently under a vet's care but we hope that he will be cleared to undergo his heart worm treatment very soon. We anticipate he will be available for adoption mid October, 2016.     'Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is John Henry. I may be a bit older or actually considered a senior but your only as old as you feel... Right? Well I don't feel old. I can run and jump with the best of them. I'm old enough that I have manners that some of the younger whipper snappers may not have. I am crate trained, I know the dog door, I can shake with both paws, will fetch a ball and I will sit for my food and not touch it until you release me. Now that's pretty darn good manners, don't you think? Look, I promise that I have much love to offer you!! My question is, do you have enough love to offer me? Whomever falls for me will be in ...     Traci is a wonderful gal who loves her morning walks and treats. She does pretty well on a leash, but you better hold on tight when she sees a squirrel or rabbit! Traci is now an only child and I think she would like to keep it that way. She was recently around another large dog on a social event and was a bit aggressive. Traci is extremely calm and gentle with people of all ages. She is very patient with my 2.5 year old grandson and is his little caretaker. She is potty trained with her doggie door and has the run of the house all day with no issues. She is also nicknamed wiggles because her tail is constantly wagging with happiness! See ...     'I'm a special guy looking for my special family. I need a family that will have lots of time to spend with me because I love to be around people. I have chronic selective hearing (I'm deaf), so you will have to learn how to talk to me in sign language. I'm getting really good with commands such as sirsir, wait, down and go potty. Let's meet. Animal ID: 16277Ninja, Adopt Pending (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi everyone, my name is Ninja! I have been with my foster family for just a few weeks now. I am super sweet and pretty chill for a boxer. I lay around most of the day on whatever seems comfortable (couch, floor, box, laps). My mom wonders if I'll get some energy back when I am all better though. I still have a few hurdles ahead of me, I'm heartworm positive and currently unaltered. I love to cuddle with my mom! I'm great with the little toddler they have running around here. He tries to be gentle but will roll on me and sit on me sometimes, but I don't mind at all and love the attention. He also gives me kisses and hugs! I'm ... (Read More)pretty quiet too. I rarely bark or make any noise. When my fur-sister starts to bark, I'll occasionally jump in on the fun but not usually. She's an older, smaller dog, and we get along great! We never fight or get angry with each other. She's used to having girls around so I bet she's happy to have a hunk like me around these days %BD%81S I came to my foster family pretty skinny, with my ribs showing. I've since eaten quite a bit and have started to put on some weight. I'll let you know how much I weigh these days after my next check-up next week. They have me on a grain free no poultry diet right now because they think I might have a food allergy. That's okay though, the Salmon and Sweet Potato food they have me on is DELISH! My mom says I am house trained but not crate trained yet. They are working on it with me though. I usually just get free range of the house, if they are home or away, and they have a dog door for me so I use it when I need to go potty, and that's about it. After being outside for a while before I was fostered, this AC they have for me feels way too good to be spending my time outside. Everyone who meets me says I am one cool dog! So calm when people come over and I haven't jumped up on a single one of them. Mom and dad say I will make the best fur baby for whomever adopts me. Animal ID: 16186Hashtag (male)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hey everyone! My name is Hashtag and I'm a spunky boxer boy who's been with LBR for a couple of months now. I'm full of silly puppy energy but foster mom tells me I'm very well behaved for my age. I know sit, down, shake (with BOTH paws, thank you very much!) and high five. Foster mom says my paws are super active so she put them to work. So how does a seemingly perfect boy like me end up with a rescue? I was surrendered by a family who no longer had the time to care for me. I didn't get any training when I was there so I was a bit of a wild child when I first got to foster mom's. She's been teaching me all kinds of good stuff and ... (Read More)I'm learning that ''Four on the Floor'' means I get pet more. I sure do love getting loved on! It's my favorite! I don't remember what happened, but when I was little something happened to me that left several scars. I have a big one on my right side and several smaller ones on my body. Part of my jowlies on the right side are also gone. Foster mom says chicks dig scars so it's all good, but some people have been afraid of me because I look different than other dogs. I don't know why a scar would scare someone off, but foster mom tells me I'm a stunning boxer boy and don't need to worry about those people. Foster mom learned the hard way that I don't like to be confined at all! You can ask her about the door I chewed through or the time I hurt myself really bad trying to break out of the crate. So, she leaves me out in the house with access to a dog door and I'm a perfect gentleman. I don't mess with any of her things but I have snagged a thing or two out of the trash so she keeps it in a different room now. I taught her something too! ha! I live with 4 other dogs and we get along great! None of them really like to play and they are older so I respect their space. I've loved just about all the other dogs I've met. The only time I'm nervous about meeting new dogs is when I'm on a leash. Foster mom says I'm a bit of a butt towards new dogs when I'm on a leash. We're working on that though! In my forever home, I'd love to have a playful dog to help burn off some of my energy. I need a family that understands my anxieties about being confined and is ok with me being out uncrated. Since I can be barky at times, I need a house vs an apartment. My family also needs to be able to continue my training so I can be the best dog possible. #hashtag #lbrfoster #lookingformyforeverhome ' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3228 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php.     My name is Markus, and I have had a rough life. At some point I lived indoors and was good boy. I know how to sit, lay down and go into my crate. But some where along the way I must have gotten away and lived outside. I am recovering from a nasty cough and my fur is starting to grow back from an allergic reaction to fleas.
