'Hi everyone!! I'm Kerry and I'm new around here. I'm not telling anyone my history, because I think a girl has to keep a few secrets. My foster mom says I'm a petite girl, and apparently this means I'm pretty small. Good things come in small packages! I love my people and love to snuggle. I've met some cats and think they are ok. I'm pretty choosy about my dog friends, but I do like some dogs. I'm just not sure it's necessary to be friends with everyone! I mean, I'm a pretty princess, and am perfectly happy to hang out with humans. I am good in my crate and good on a leash, too! I still need to be spayed (no more puppies! ... (Read More)YAY!) and have to go through heartworm treatment (YUCK!). After that, I will be ready to meet your family so I can hopefully become your forever princess! Animal ID: 16427Roadie (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Do you need silly, affectionate, smart guy in your life? If you're intrigued, I may just be the right boy for you. Roadie is my name, and having fun is my game! I like stuffed toys, playing fetch, frolicking in the yard, going for walks, and riding in the car. Don't let my tough-guy exterior fool you. I also have a sweet, sensitive side. I enjoy snuggling on the couch, giving gentle kisses, and being close to my family members. I know basic commands, I am housebroken, and I am crate trained. I guess you could say that I am a well-rounded fella, and a happy forever home is music to my ears! You may be curious about my past. It's a sad ... (Read More)story, actually. I came from a loving home where I had a boxer sister for most of my life. Our mom died recently, and my sister and I ended up in a shelter. My sister was adopted from the shelter, and Legacy swooped in to save me with the promise of a happily ever after. I think it's important for you to know that I came from a loving home before coming into Legacy's care. I was so stressed out at the shelter that I hardly ate and I licked and rubbed my upper lip almost raw. Now that I'm out of that scary place, I am eating again and my lips are healing. I have been through a lot lately, so I am a little slow to warm up to new people. Once I know you're kind and don't wish me any harm, we'll be best buds. Even though I have experienced a lot of loss in the past few weeks, but I'm on the mend and I am ready to love again. Here are some facts about me: I am about 5 years old. I have a slender, narrow build. I am tall, standing approximately 27' at the front shoulder. My color is fawn, and I have white from my chin to my chest and a dab of white on a few of my toes. I have natural ears, a docked tail, and dewclaws removed. I am neutered, fully vetted, heartworm negative, microchipped, and looking for a loving family to call my own. I would enjoy a fur brother or sister who likes to play, but I'd also be great as an only dog. Here's the best part'|I am adoption ready now! If you like what you see, have your people contact my people, and we'll see about getting this gig set up. Peace, love, and rock 'n roll, Roadie ' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3283 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php.     I know, I know, I'm beautiful. I also am so friendly and just love life! I know how to play with toys and friends. My foster sister, Stella, (Chi/pug mix) and my foster cousin, Hera, are fun for me to be around. I go outside to potty whenever you let me out. I saw some bushy creatures trying to get across my fence today, and I made sure they ran fast to get out. Walking on my leash is great and I love to go in the car. I ride very nicely. I just had my spay and pretty soon, I will have to go see my Dr. friend again to get rid of some nasty heartworms. I will be ready to go to my forever home after that. I love giving kisses and ... Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, my name is SJ, and thanks for stopping by my page. You can call me Sadie if you want since that's the name I had at previous home. I came into Legacy's care because me previous family had a lot of sad things happen, and they didn't think they could give me the life they thought I deserved any longer. I am a 2 year-old fawn female and I'm about 60 lbs. My foster parents say I'm the sweetest, most well behaved foster they've had. Before I got to my foster home, I had never been around other dogs. Once I settled into my new surroundings, I got to meet their 2 dogs and other foster, we got along right away. The first night, my foster ... (Read More)parents caught me licking my foster brother's face; he's so handsome. I love being around my fur siblings because they are fun to play with and mouth-joust with. My foster family also has 3 cats. I don't get to see them all that much, but when I do, I lick the older cat in the face when he licks mine; he's super furry and it feels weird on my tongue. I also have 4 skin siblings at my foster home and they let me cuddle on them. I love cuddling. I am crate trained, and house trained too. It took me a few days, but I have mastered their dog door and haven't had any accidents. I know sit and sometimes shake. I love treats, rawhides, and to play with toys. I am getting better about eating my food right away. If I don't, my foster brother comes over and eats my food too; but only because I let him. As far as a furever family, I just want a family that wants me. Will you be the family that gives me the life I deserve?' Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hey everybody! My name is Floki and I am a gentle giant. I am 18 months old and weigh 75 pounds! I'm very calm and I am well behaved for a young lad. I have not been with my foster family family very long but in a short time they learnt that I am crate and house trained. I don't enjoy going in my crate, but once I'm there, I behave (especially if you lead me to it with some peanut butter!) I enjoy being an indoor dog, but, since I'm still a puppy, I need to let my abundant energy out often. I like to run in the yard, play with my toys (especially the squeaky ones) and with the little humans I live with (age 6 and 3). Watch out, I'm very ... (Read More)generous with my kisses! Being a big boy sometimes my size is intimidating but all I want is to play and be loved. My foster family and everyone who meets me say that I do not have a mean bone in my body. I'm still learning how to let my foster family know that I want to play and sometimes like to pull on the 'toy' attached to my host dad (he calls it his hand). I have been told that it is not proper and I am working on that. My next family will need to continue my training and re-enforce my good manners. I'm a very friendly dog and am very curious about other dogs, cats and humans. However, I do get anxious when I am barked at while on walks. Other animals I meet do not bother me whether it be cats, squirrels or pigs (yes I met one and I was a total gentleman). I know a few commands such as 'sit', 'no' and am currently learning other ones. I am a quick learner because I am smart and treat motivated. When I misbehave a stern 'no' and a strong stance do the trick. Overall I think I'm the total package, and if you are dying to meet me, guess what? I am too! Just go ahead and contact legacy (LBR) or my foster family so we can make it happen. See you soon! I do not jump when you present me with your presence but I will lean and hug on you for love when you finally sit down. I like to think 73 pounds is really light and wish to be a lap dog!     'Hi friends, my name is Hurley and I've been with my foster mom for a few weeks now. I'm very much still a boxer puppy and have lots of energy. I like my toys, I enjoy chewing on things, and I love other dogs. Mom says some people are worried that white boxers can't hear, but I can hear everything! I like to be by moms side most of the time, but I am content with laying on my bed and napping or chewing on a toy. I get VERY excited when I meet new people and mom says I have to work on my jumping...I think I'm a good jumper! She says I hop like a jack rabbit in the back yard. I don't mind my crate too much unless mom leaves the room. She ... Animal ID: 16343Orlando (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi! My name is Orlando. My Foster home says 'Orlando' means 'spunky, toy-loving, crazy Boxer-spirited boy'. That's exactly what I am'| with whipped cream and a cherry on top! Let's get the basic hubbub out of the way, shall we? I am crate trained (a yummy treat helps me go in easy). I am a very strong boy. I could easily knock down small children, so any kiddo's in the home should be 14 or 15 years of age or older. I am a pretty smart fella! I'm learning 'SIT'. I know 'OFF!' mainly because I like to counter surf and put my paws on you for kisses and loves. And, I'll be honest with you'| I'm learning 'LEAVE IT' because I love ... (Read More)to pick up anything left on the floor (or in the trash can) that maybe you wouldn't want me to have, such as shoes, clothes, ear buds, Kleenexes, TV Remotes (it's a pretty long list), etc. Don't let this scare you away, though. I am easily redirected with fun dog toys'| I love to play with anything you give me. Fetch is a pretty fun game, too! At two years old I am ALL puppy. My foster mom says I have the best woo-woo-'s she's ever heard and they make her heart melt. I woo-woo when I'm happy or excited or when it's time to eat. I even woo-woo with a toy in my mouth! I love attention and giving kisses. You already know that I love toys. I like to stay b-u-s-y because I have a ton of Boxer energy! I definitely need a fur brother or sister because I love to mouth joust and wrestle so they should be about my size or bigger. I'd get too lonely without a fur sibling and I may end up crying in my crate. The most important thing that you should know about me is'| wait! Is that a new ball? Gotta run'| Catch ya later! Please note that Orlando is currently under a vet's care but we hope that he will be cleared to undergo his heart worm treatment very soon. We anticipate he will be available for adoption mid October, 2016. Personality: Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

''Kevin' means 'kind, gentle, and handsome', and believe us when we say that this two-years-old boy lives up to his name. This sweet boy is deaf, so he likes to hang close to his people; he does very well with other dogs, too. Kevin is learning basic sign language ('potty', 'sit'), and it will not take long for him to master these commands; he is very smart and he works hard if turkey is involved! Kevin's previous owners did not understand that any young Boxer requires training and companionship; Kevin did not get enough of either. As a result, he is a little insecure about being left alone and his communication training needs work. ... (Read More)Kevin would do best with a stay-at-home or work-at-home parent who is willing to continue Kevin's sign-language training and to provide the security of a routine. We know that Kevin would do well in a home that has other dogs to show him the ropes, and he would probably do well in a home that has older children. This guy will give his new family years of fun, love, and devotion. Let us know when you would like to meet Kevin! I'm crate trained, know sit and shake, and I'm working on learning more commands every day. I'm so full of wiggles and always eager to go chase that ball! I'm so full of fun! I can't wait to give you kisses and cuddles! I'm a great listener and young, so I'm ready to learn anything new. My Foster Mom is so very proud of me! ' See my complete bio at ...     'Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is John Henry. I may be a bit older or actually considered a senior but your only as old as you feel... Right? Well I don't feel old. I can run and jump with the best of them. I'm old enough that I have manners that some of the younger whipper snappers may not have. I am crate trained, I know the dog door, I can shake with both paws, will fetch a ball and I will sit for my food and not touch it until you release me. Now that's pretty darn good manners, don't you think? Look, I promise that I have much love to offer you!! My question is, do you have enough love to offer me? Whomever falls for me will be in ...     'Hi I'm Burton. I've been with my foster family for about two months now. I'm 10 years old, fawn with a perfect black mask (no grey hair), and a 56 pounds fellow that still needs to add 5 pounds or so. I've previously lived, with only one owner but due to some personal life changing issues she had to let me go and find a new forever home. I'm a very docile, calm fellow who gets along with other dogs and people. I'm never mean or angry with anyone. I just want to nuzzle up to you and get petted and I'm always happy to see new people. My foster dad is starting to train me in some commands but since I didn't start until I was 10 years old ... (Read More)it is taking a little while. I now have sit and stay very well but still working on the down command. I can stay in a crate with no issues, but since I wasn't neutered until I was 10 years old, and probably never trained earlier, I am having some difficulty with my housetraining. I'm good while people are home and you let me out immediately after eating but, if I'm left out of my crate when the family is gone, I still have accidents. But I'm working on it. I haven't been on any walks yet since I am undergoing Heartworm Treatment and the vet is taking a slow extended approach due to my age. I am scheduled for my next round of treatment soon and will need another 30 days afterwards before I will be ready to go visit people. The vet also removed a lump from my neck and says I need to take Benedryl every day from now on. Once I recover from the Heartworm Treatment I'll be ready to start seeing new families and to meet my new forever family. If you're looking for a great dog I may be your guy. Give my people a call and we'll do a Meet and Greet. See you soon!     Traci is a wonderful gal who loves her morning walks and treats. She does pretty well on a leash, but you better hold on tight when she sees a squirrel or rabbit! Traci is now an only child and I think she would like to keep it that way. She was recently around another large dog on a social event and was a bit aggressive. Traci is extremely calm and gentle with people of all ages. She is very patient with my 2.5 year old grandson and is his little caretaker. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi everyone, my name is Ninja! I have been with my foster family for just a few weeks now. I am super sweet and pretty chill for a boxer. I lay around most of the day on whatever seems comfortable (couch, floor, box, laps). My mom wonders if I'll get some energy back when I am all better though. I still have a few hurdles ahead of me, I'm heartworm positive and currently unaltered. I love to cuddle with my mom! I'm great with the little toddler they have running around here. He tries to be gentle but will roll on me and sit on me sometimes, but I don't mind at all and love the attention. He also gives me kisses and hugs! I'm ... (Read More)pretty quiet too. I rarely bark or make any noise. When my fur-sister starts to bark, I'll occasionally jump in on the fun but not usually. She's an older, smaller dog, and we get along great! We never fight or get angry with each other. She's used to having girls around so I bet she's happy to have a hunk like me around these days %81S I came to my foster family pretty skinny, with my ribs showing. I've since eaten quite a bit and have started to put on some weight. I'll let you know how much I weigh these days after my next check-up next week. They have me on a grain free no poultry diet right now because they think I might have a food allergy. That's okay though, the Salmon and Sweet Potato food they have me on is DELISH! My mom says I am house trained but not crate trained yet. They are working on it with me though. I usually just get free range of the house, if they are home or away, and they have a dog door for me so I use it when I need to go potty, and that's about it. After being outside for a while before I was fostered, this AC they have for me feels way too good to be spending my time outside. Everyone who meets me says I am one cool dog! So calm when people come over and I haven't jumped up on a single one of them. Mom and dad say I will make the best fur baby for whomever adopts me. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, my name is Kaylee. My foster mom says I'm the prettiest little girl she has seen in a long time. I live with foster Mom and Dad, one skin sister plus a fur brother. We have fur friends come spend time with us from time to time. I get alone with everyone. I will say, I could very easily be an only dog in my new home since I love being a princess. I am a good girl when it comes to going outside and doing my business. Also, if you feel more comfortable having me sleep in a crate, I know how to do that as well. I came in into Legacy's care about a month ago. Just as I arrived, I came down with what they call kennel cough. That is ... (Read More)just so funny to me, since I wasn't sick in the kennel but coughed a lot in my foster home. After a couple of weeks, I got well and went for my check up at the nice Vet's office. Now, don't get scared. They say I have these nasty worms. Actually, I have two kinds. One is called hook worms that I got medicine for. Five days and those nasty things will be gone. I have not felt like eating because they have made me feel so bad. But, after a couple of days with this magic medicine, my appetite is coming back and I actually feel like eating and playing with my toys again. Now, let's talk about the other kind of worms I have. They say I have heart worms too. I'm going to start my treatment soon. They say I will have to be on bed-rest for several weeks. You just watch and see, being on bed-rest will give me that princess attention I love. Once all those worms are out of my heart, I will have more room to love of my new family. And my boxer spirit will come bouncing out of me. I will be the luckiest dog on earth. If you would love to meet a small beautiful young lady that would be me! I would also love to meet you. It would be nice to know that someone will be waiting for me after I'm completely healthy again and I can show you my boxer spirit.     'Hi! It's me, JigglyPuff stopping by to introduce myself and tell you a little about ME. I'm a young guy, maybe 2 or 3 years old. I'm a little guy, about 45 pounds right now, but my foster mom says I need to gain a couple of pounds. I'm not super skinny, but could stand to put on a little weight. Mom doesn't like seeing my hip bones. I have two fur brothers in my foster home and they are pretty cool. They share their chewies and toys with me and let me follow them where ever they go. They have an awesome big back yard and a doggy door so I'm getting to do LOTS of boxer burns. After being in the shelter for 9 long days, getting to ... She doesn't know anything about me other than how handsome I am and that I'm a very sweet boy. Hopefully everything will check out and I'll be ready to meet my new family in a couple of weeks! In the meantime, Mom says you should take a look at all of the other awesome boxer boys and girls that are already ready for a forever home. They deserve a chance too. Talk to you soon! JPuffy' Update: I've had my neuter and am recovering from that and a double ear infection. I'm also heartworm positive so I have to be treated for that before I can go home.     'Hey everyone! My name is Hashtag and I'm a spunky boxer boy who's been with LBR for a couple of months now. I'm full of silly puppy energy but foster mom tells me I'm very well behaved for my age. I know sit, down, shake (with BOTH paws, thank you very much!) and high five. Foster mom says my paws are super active so she put them to work. So how does a seemingly perfect boy like me end up with a rescue? I was surrendered by a family who no longer had the time to care for me. I didn't get any training when I was there so I was a bit of a wild child when I first got to foster mom's. She's been teaching me all kinds of good stuff and ... (Read More)I'm learning that ''Four on the Floor'' means I get pet more. I sure do love getting loved on! It's my favorite! I don't remember what happened, but when I was little something happened to me that left several scars. I have a big one on my right side and several smaller ones on my body. Part of my jowlies on the right side are also gone. Foster mom says chicks dig scars so it's all good, but some people have been afraid of me because I look different than other dogs. I don't know why a scar would scare someone off, but foster mom tells me I'm a stunning boxer boy and don't need to worry about those people. Foster mom learned the hard way that I don't like to be confined at all! You can ask her about the door I chewed through or the time I hurt myself really bad trying to break out of the crate. So, she leaves me out in the house with access to a dog door and I'm a perfect gentleman. I don't mess with any of her things but I have snagged a thing or two out of the trash so she keeps it in a different room now. I taught her something too! ha! I live with 4 other dogs and we get along great! None of them really like to play and they are older so I respect their space. I've loved just about all the other dogs I've met. The only time I'm nervous about meeting new dogs is when I'm on a leash. Foster mom says I'm a bit of a butt towards new dogs when I'm on a leash. We're working on that though! In my forever home, I'd love to have a playful dog to help burn off some of my energy. I need a family that understands my anxieties about being confined and is ok with me being out uncrated. Since I can be barky at times, I need a house vs an apartment. My family also needs to be able to continue my training so I can be the best dog possible. #hashtag #lbrfoster #lookingformyforeverhome ' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3228 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php. She makes an excellent home-office companion, cuddle buddy, sous chef, and hall monitor. Nikita could become an instant member of your family; just add love!     'Helllllllloooooooo amazing wonderful Boxer lovers....here I am...Sister Bertrille....I have been given this name because everyone said I look like Sally Field's Flying Nun character.... her name on the show was Sister Bertrille.....my FM (Foster Mom) said it fits me perfectly!!! My life now is A-mazing....I have a warm bed, awesome food, water and two fur-siblings....I do like puppies, but I have not been introduced to any kitty cats since I have been at my FM. I did okay with introductions to my fur siblings...but I prefer those introductions to be slow.....I am a Silver and that qualifies me to be picky with my introductions....but once ... (Read More)you are my friend....you ARE my friend. The three of us are the guard crew of our yard!!! I LOVE running free in our backyard....but its sooooo hot that I prefer air conditioning. I love giving kisses and if you scratch right behind my Flying Nun ears.....that makes me happy and my foot to just start moving. Because I'm a silver....boxer burns and kidney beans are not in my vocabulary....but BOXER BUTT WIGGLES are.....i love to wiggle my butt because I am happy and have a chance at a great life!!! I know sit and am learning stay...see you can teach Silver dogs new tricks!!! There is one thing I need to tell you....my FM noticed I was eating and drinking a LOT of water...and needed to pee a LOT....I have been tested and I have this thing called Cushings Disease....this is caused by an increase in cortisone due to either a benign tumor of the pituitary gland or an enlargement of the pituitary gland. I now taking medication and it seems to be helping me.....I go back to the doctor's office soon to do a follow-up. But I feel fan-tab-u-lous (that's fantastic and fabulous).....woot woot!!! Animal ID: 16211Vance, Adopted (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'6/1/16 Vance has begun HW treatment and has at least 3 more weeks to go on recovery. He is a handsome, calm, sweet boy who has probably never really played with another pup, but he has been very friendly and interested in dogs he sees. So, he may be great with a dog buddy, but doesn't need one. Mr Calm is also super gentle about taking treats from our hands. He loves to go out to walk and is pretty much a dream on the leash. While he doesn't love being kenneled, he is quiet in the kennel. He is usually left out in a room where he stays quiet, watching out the window - no destruction ;) More updates when he is able to interact a bit ... Boxer    Age: Adult

' Beatrice is a very sweet older girl. She has been diagnosed with Cushings and is currently on medication to treat her symptoms. Due to the cushings disease she does not have a lot of energy. But, she does love attention and loves to snuggle. She knows basic commands and walks well on a leash. She doesn't get on the furniture unless invited. She gets along with other dogs, but doesn't have any desire to play. She does well with children of all ages. She's a very happy girl, little tail is always wagging. She is really a joy to have around.' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3202 If you ... Animal ID: 14203Lucy Lu (female)

Boxer    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'I am called LucyLu and this is not my first rodeo with Legacy Boxer Rescue. About 9 years ago, when I was just a sweet young thing, I was rescued by LBR and adopted into a loving family. Throughout those years, my family loved me and took great care of me. In return, I was a loyal companion. I always used the outside potty place and obeyed commands, and could be counted on to remain at home quietly waiting for my people to come back. I was told over and over that I was a good girl. But those times home alone became longer and longer, and then my family found that -- even working with 15 hours some days -- they needed to move to an ... (Read More)apartment where I would be alone too much. My people decided Legacy could find me a better life and tearfully returned me in hopes I would have more people and dog time. I must admit, while I do miss my people, I really love canine and human companionship and I am having a really good time in my foster home. I play, play, play with my foster brothers and love to get hugs loving from my foster parents. I am called a ''Sliver Boxer'' because I am equivalent to human retirement age now. But, just like with humans, there are some very active seniors. I am one of those. I enjoy all the usual doggie things like Boxer play, walks, and of course couch cuddling. I am also an all natural woman -- I don't need plastic surgery to look elegant. I have my original tail, and ears and I have been complimented on my overall cuteness. So, that's me: fun, sweet, mature, healthy and great with other dogs and kids. The only thing missing from the total picture is my own family. If you'd like to meet me please let Legacy know!'
