Hi there! I'm the tiniest little girl but sweeter than bee pollen on a summer wind. I'm going to be very busy in the weeks to come. I have to put on some meat on my little frame and when I'm strong enough my Foster Mom is going to brew a magic potion to banish the ikky heartworms. I have a protector, Laz.     Hi Everyone! My Foster Mom has named me Lazarus because I am in the process of resurrection. I am working on putting some meat on my bones, but Mom says I have to do it slowly. She's killed all my fleas and my fur is velvety soft. You can tell that I'm a long, lanky boy -built like a runner. I'm very affectionate and have the energy of a puppy! I think I'm a lap dog. I was found with a female boxer companion. Mom's not sure if we are related but I guard that little girl fiercely and it's my job to take care of her. I'm a helicopter Brother. *grin* Stay tuned for more about me as my resurrection process continues. I'm going to be ... (Read More)one dapper gentleman!     Hi! My name is Bennington. I'm around 3 years old and weigh about 65lbs. I am a very sweet boy. I am house trained, crate trained, and ride very well in the car. I am learning to walk well on a leash. I know how to sit and shake. I like to play with stuffies and do zoomies in the backyard. I like to get scratches on my belly and ears. I'm learning how wonderful it is to cuddle and give kisses. I would do best in a home with older children who are dog savvy. I can be an only dog or have dog siblings. I am an all around happy guy with lots of love to give! See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3451 If ... Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello! My name is Moana. You are meeting me at a most improved time of my life. In the last few weeks I was a stray, I met a male dog or two who did not have my best interests in mind, and I was in a shelter about to deliver puppies at any moment. Legacy found me there and two days after I moved in with my current foster family I gave birth to eleven tiny blessings. Right now I am taking extremely good care of the nine who are still here and we are all eating well and taking our meds like good patients. I am determined to stay here and take care of my babies until they don't need me anymore. After that though - I would love to go on ... (Read More)another adventure! I happen to love everyone here and they love me. Except for this senior boxer female named Maggie. She is grumpy and does NOT like me. And when she tells me that I get my feelings hurt and I show her that I am stronger, faster, and can be just as mean as she can. It really scares everyone involved so we are not permitted to hang out anymore. I would feel better in a home with only love around me. And if it is going to be your home let me tell you that I have better manners than any boxer these folks have ever seen. I sit at the door when I need to go outside, I walk on a leash happily wherever we may roam, I run and play and race with other friendly dogs and I let any and all kids love on me whenever they want. I will give you boxer butt wiggles and maybe even some kisses. I hope to get to know you better soon.     'Hello!!! My name is America. I was rescued on the Fourth of July in dire need of medical attention. I was taken to the Emergency doggie hospital and they got me started on to the good life. See I had a very large wound on my neck/shoulder area that was infected and required surgical debridement, antibiotics, wound care and some groceries (I was starving). The wonderful family at LBR has brought me back to health (I have a very small woundČ'Ř|..but it is amazing from what it was originally). My physical wounds were only half my battle though. I was not socialized/treated well in my past life. I am currently seeking out a FOREVER ... (Read More)FAMILY/BUDDY. This is what I would picture my forever home to be: - I need a quiet backyard of my own. The outdoors are pretty scary to me. I can relax when I don't have a lot of distractions/noises/strange moving things. - I would also prefer to have my humans all to myself. I can shareČ'Ř|..but I would prefer not to. - It takes me some time to get comfortable with humans so I would really prefer a quiet home that my human(s) can let me sit on their lap(s) without a lot of distractions. - I would love to have toys!!! I love to play with my toys! I love to squeak them, chase them, fetch them and chew on them. - LastlyČ'Ř|.I need someone that will give me time to trust and love them. As new situations tend to scare me I ask that you have patience with me. I am REALLY worth it. I will forever pay you in kisses.'     'Hi there, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Keisel and I became a Legacy dog in July......... best day ever. I now have foster siblings to play with, and they are showing me the ropes, I didn't really know how to play with toys, yet alone other dogs, it's really fun. I have also learned to sit, and shake hands, and my mom says I walk well on the leash. I'm very gentle at taking treats,it's important to be polite, I also like to give hugs, but mom says not everyone likes that, so I'm doing my best to just sit and look handsome, she says I've got that mastered. I am crate trained, but I'll be honest, it's not my favorite place, so ... (Read More)I'm looking for a home where I don't have to spend a lot of time in a crate. I have a favorite spot on the couch, where I like to hang out, if I'm not playing with my foster siblings , we have lots of fun together. I'm not quite ready for my forever home yet, as I have some skin issues that are healing and getting better everyday, as soon as my skin is all better and all my hair has come in, I have to have something called ''the snip'' done, mom says it's what good boys do. Check back around September for more updates, or if you'd like more info about me, or another Legacy dog searching for their forever home, check with your AC. In the meantime, I'm taking my spot on the couch and getting ready for football season.' '*UPDATE* 9/13/17 Just wanted to give a quick update on myself. I'm still not quite ready for adoption yet, I have nicely recovered from my skin issues and mom says I look very handsome, and during my recovery process, I discovered that I like bath time. I recently had ''the snip'' and it was a rather difficult one, and due to this, I'm still not quite ready to find my forever family, doesn't mean you can't inquire about me, but I just need a little more time before I can meet families, so sorry for the delay, but mom says, anything worth having is worth waiting for, so please check back around the middle or close to the end of October for more updates. I am hoping to be searching for my new family then.' Animal ID: 17223Bell (female)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Bell is a sweet young female that loves to play fetch as long as you throw the ball. She gives lots of kisses and loves to cuddle. She needs to be an only dog, as she becomes food and toy aggressive with other dogs. Because of this it's recommended that she go to a home without young children. I'm a very smart girl and I know how to sit, shake, and leave it. I love to be right beside my humans and sometimes lay on them, I'm 63 lbs of pure love. I love pulling toys from the toy box just to mix things up. I love going on walks and I enjoy running around in the back yard. I love shadowing my humans when we are in the house, because I am a ... (Read More)part of your family. I stay in the crate during the days when my foster parents are at work. I'm not a big fan but I'll do it for them. I'd really love someone that could stay home all the time with me, as I love getting lots of attention from my humans and I love getting good ear rubs. I'm 11 months old, so I'm still learning, but I pick up quickly. I need clear boundaries, so I can be the best dog for you. I do an amazing boxer wiggle, and I'm house trained by hitting my bells hanging on the back door. We are continuing to let her settle in and decompress so we can make sure we can find her a great forever home. Animal ID: 17222Minor (male)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Minor was rescued in June 2017. Although we do not know his full story, we know he was in an emergent situation, and needed rescue quickly. His past medical history is unknown. Once in LBR's care, he received all necessary vaccinations and was ready for a neuter. But this was delayed due to an abnormal heart rhythm found on initial vet check. Minor then saw a cardiologist. Initial tests were inconclusive but did indicate a slightly abnormal thyroid test and an abnormal heart rhythm so he was placed on medication. After about 6 weeks on medication, he was released to undergo a neuter, which went on without any problems. Minor will need to go ... (Read More)back to the cardiologist in late September for repeat testing. He will not be available until cleared by cardiology and when we have a more clear diagnosis. Minor asks that you check out his other brothers and sisters who are available for adoption now. A little more about Minor: He is one of the calmest boxers I have ever met. We are not sure if this is just his demeanor or because of any underlying health condition. He loves everyone, dogs and children of all ages but he is not a fan of cats and should not be placed in a home with feline friends. Minor knows simple commands, is house trained and working on perfecting the crate. At first, he thought the crate was a torture chamber so you have to pick him up and place him in the crate, but once in, he's a dream. Minor loves to cuddle and be around his people and fur friends. He does get anxious when outside around other dogs so he would do best in a traditional neighborhood with a fenced yard. He has good leash manners but will pull a little especially when interested in something like dogs, birds or squirrels. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Gala has settled in nicely and has brought us so much joy! She loves being the only dog and getting lots of attention. She is working on her cat friendly skills, and doing well. She is very well behaved except for being a crate buster, working on that. She loves being close to her new people at all times. She enjoys her new bed, treats, and toys. She's super sweet with her disabled 5 year old skin brother, very loving and patient. They already have a special bond. She's good on a leash and enjoys walks. She sits and shakes, and adores giving Boxer kisses. We are super excited to welcome her and her sweet silly natural tail to our little ... (Read More)family! It is a joy to watch her tail wag, its kind of a party all on its own. She is wonderful, and we couldn't love her more! Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Sweetheart Madeline is sweet as can be and a gentle soul, once you get to know her. Unfortunately, she had a rough road getting here and is still very slow to warm up to new people and surroundings. Give her a bit of time, and the wiggle butt is fully active! She loves to be with her people and enjoys being with her foster fur siblings, also. Squeaky toys always get her attention and she enjoys de-stuffing stuffed animals periodically, too :) Madeline is looking for a family that will love her, with her quirks. Unexpected movements and noises, including cars, make her skittish. She does bark at some characters on TV and when dogs ... (Read More)bark on the TV or computer. In spite of needing to fatten up this skinny girl, she is a picky eater. Adding a tiny bit of chicken, cheese or bread helps to keep her eating, or adding canned food to the dry. She is an escape artist, knowing how to open up some gate designs: she did it in the shelter and in her foster home, once. Openings in the lower areas of the fence will need to be checked for this girl;) If you'd like a couch buddy who is always happy to see you, check out this amazing girl!' Animal ID: 16626Django (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi y'all! My name is Django and I am finally unchained! I spent several months in the shelter (since october) until Legacy was able to snatch me up! I am really into getting loved on and belly rubs, treats are amazing too! I have had sometime to get to know my foster mom and so far she thinks I am such a sweetheart. In full disclosure, I was surrendered because my previous family thought I bit a toddler. After investigation it was not necessarily a bite; the toddler was in my face and when i was trying to get away I think I scared her. Also, my mom doesn't believe I am FULL blooded boxer, I act like one and look very close to one but my ... (Read More)build is shorter and little more stocky so in case you aren't interested in a mix I wanted to let you know now. I can't wait to find my forever home to love on me. I think kids would be cool if they were little older; they drop food and could give me a bunch of attention and I like that a lot! If you are interested in getting to know me more please reach out to your adoption counselor! I am going to the vet to see if I have nasty heartworms and if I do, Legacy will get rid of those for me before I go to my new home. If you are looking for a sweet loving babe, I am your man!     Meet Daznee! The sweetest little girl, who loves to cuddle. Daznee is gentle and calm for her age, she resides with two other Boxers, one English Bulldog and our eldest Dia, a 16 year old Pomeranian. Daznee has never met a stranger and welcomes everyone. Daznee is recovering from surgery at this time, with a second surgery pending. Her little teeth in her front lower jaw never came in, causing her body to reject the enamel below the gum line. Daznee also has a cleft palate. (an opening in the roof of her mouth) Surgery removed the damaged tissue and a second surgery will close the opening. This has caused her adorable looking smile. We are ... (Read More)on the road to recovery, please keep a watch on Daznee as she will be looking for her forever home in the weeks to come. Animal ID: 16443Fritzi, Adopted (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'This pretty girl has a new name to go with her new life. Meet Fritzi! She's a sweet 3 - 4 year old boxer girl that somehow found herself in the shelter. She has been to the vet and had her checkup. She is now spayed (no more puppies) and heartworm negative - Yay! Her foster parents have already learned that she's dog friendly and that she LOVES people. She follows them wherever they go, being sure to stick close and watch everything that they do. She doesn't seem to know any commands, but she's a smart girl and will learn quickly. She needs to gain some weight and when she does, she'll be on the medium to large size. Probably in ... (Read More)the 60 - 65 lb range. She's already put on a few pounds and weighs in at 61 lbs. During her vet visit, the vet found a small lump and removed it. There were some mast cells present, but it was a grade 1 with good margins, which is the best possible news. She's on benadryl twice a day for 6 weeks. As with ALL boxers, any lump or bump will need to be looked at by the vet. Fritzi is not a fan of cats, so absolutely no cats in her new home. Fritzi's favorite thing to do is to be upside down. If you have the time and a spare hand, she's always willing to go belly up for a good belly rub. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home. Fritzi is good with other dogs as long as they are calm and laid back. She prefers to be the boss, so her doggy friends need to be submissive and let her be the Queen of the castle. 12/31/2016 UPDATE: Fritzi will be available for adoption in August or September of 2017. We recently learned that she has two torn ACL's and will require two separate surgeries to repair the damage. Each surgery has a 12 -16 week recovery time. Please check back for updates.' UPDATE 7/16/17: Fritzi will be available for adoption in November or December of 2017. She will be undergoing her second TPLO surgery in August and will need a 12 -16 week recovery time. Please check back for an update.'
