Animal ID: 18154Zella (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hello! My name is Zella and I am 5 yrs old. My birthday is Oct. 31, 2012. My foster mom tells me how sweet and smart I am. I learn quickly and pay attention to what she tells me. I will sit and lay on command and roll over for belly rubs too. I am house trained, and crate trained, but I don't care much for my crate. My foster mom & dad only send me to my crate when we're left alone. I get along very well with my two fur brothers and I like little kids too. I do not get on the furniture even though my foster mom says it's ok. I know ladies don't usually tell their weight, but even though I'm 58 pounds I don't look it. I'm very petite and ... (Read More)graceful with long legs. Everyone tells me I'm very pretty! I like going on walks and do very well on a leash. I had my vet check up recently. I did really well until it came to the Heartworm test...I didn't pass that one. BUT, I am going back to the vet on May 14th to get those nasty things taken care of! Thirty days after that, I will be ready to move in with my forever family! I have two (really big) fur brothers, and we all roll really well together. They're nice to me and I'm nice to them too. I love my foster family very much, but I'm looking forward to having a forever home of my own. So, if you want to meet me just let us know and we'll come visit and see if we click!' Animal ID: 18129Sassy, Adopt Pending (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sassy just turned 3 on April the 29th. She is a small boxer. Sassy is house trained and crate trained. She is a happy girl and very well behaved. She is just the right amount of play and chill all wrapped up in one tiny ball of fun. She has no fear of thunderstorms and unlike so many other boxers we have known, she doesn't think she is going to melt if she gets wet. So, she has no qualms at all to go out in the rain and do her business. She knows sit and shake and she takes her treats very gently. Sassy has a built in pogo stick and can jump straight up in the air. Sassy LOVES to snuggle with her humans or with her furry friends. ... Thankfully, I love my food and lick my whiskers everytime! * I play really well with others, I'm just as loveable as can be! Animal ID: 18094Yancey (female)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, my name is Yancey or as my foster folks call me 'Fancy Yancey' I am very laid back and gentle according to my foster parents , and I just love laying beside you with my head in your lap ! I do like to greet you with a wiggle jiggle boxer butt, and cover you with kisses sometimes too, but mostly I'm happy just chillin ! I am potty trained , (I am proud of the fact that I have not had a single accident in my foster home) , I am crate trained and will happily walk in to go to bed when asked, and sleep the whole night thru without so much as a whimper. In fact my foster folks say I'm unusually quiet as they have not heard me bark at all ... (Read More), guess that's unusual for a girl (my foster dad told me that) but I guess I just don't have much to say. Mom and Dad say I'm a tad bit on the 'chunky side' just a tad, but we're working on that, bikini season is just around the corner. If you come to meet me, you might notice me bumping into things a little, (but not like a bull in the china shop bumping) just enough that I know to change direction a little ,maybe that's why I'm so cautious and deliberate in my walking , I seem to have some vision problems, but we are getting checked soon, but don't worry I get around just fine if you'll be willing to keep a close eye on me and talk to me as we're walking so I know the coast is clear when we're out and about . As for in the house, I learn very quickly where the obstacles are and even conquered going up and down the stairs fearlessly! They say I must be able to see somewhat because I can follow you around and recognize some things in my surroundings, I even play fetch with a ball and bring it back to you, I am happy to have three fur siblings here (one of my kind, you know a boxer, we like to snuggle together on the couch, and two little short stubby ones my foster folks call bulldogs) and we all get along just fine . Well , yawn , I think I'll take a little nap now (I like naps) but keep looking for more about me , I'll keep you up to date about my vision as we learn more. Maybe I'll dream of you, you know my furever adoptive home! So long for now , Yancey See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3542 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'This is Ranger. He's a friendly and loving 8 year old guy. Honestly he's just a sweetheart. Ranger loves to cuddle and spend time with people. He is ready to find a home that he can call his own again. Ranger is house trained and crate trained and knows how to sit like a good boy for a treat. He is a big boy and very strong but he's actually a pretty mellow guy. My 2 year old daughter has no trouble telling him what to do and he just lets her do it. Ranger likes to go for walks and he is doing pretty good on a leash. He also loves car rides and looking out the window. One of the best things about him is that he is not destructive at all ... (Read More)and has good boy manners inside the house. I especially enjoy watching him play with our 7 month old boxer puppy and being like a big brother to him. Ranger is dog friendly to most all dogs except if they are barking or too dominant. He would probably be great with another larger submissive dog or even by himself. He's quite happy cuddling up on his doggy bed, lying in his open crate or even sunbathing outside when the weather is nice. If you would like to get to know Ranger more I'm sure you'd see what a sweet and special guy he really is.     'Boo Boo is an adorable white male boxer with a brown eye patch. He is house trained and crate trained. I am working on teaching him basic commands.     'Altuve is a year old boxer puppy. He is a big boy, and super friendly. He is potty trained when you follow a schedule, but still struggles to tell you that he needs to go. He doesn't have any food / toy aggression, and overall just wants to play, ALL THE TIME (which can't happen until he finishes his recovery)! As he is so large and has many puppy like antics, I'd say no kids under 5 that are boxer savvy, or no kids under 10 if they haven't had younger big dogs before.     'My name is Correa, I am a 3-4 year old female sweetie. I have not been with my foster family very long, but I can tell you it is WAY better than living on the streets! I am still figuring out who to trust and quickly learning the wonderful world of cushy dog beds and night time cuddles. I have made friends with the other boxer boys in the house, and the other little doggies. I am not quite sure what the point of toys are, nor am I 100% sure how to play with another dog (I have a little bit and it was fun, but I think I just need a bit more time). I am happy to share my food, even though my foster family tells me I need all the ... (Read More)groceries I can get. I will get in the crate, but it causes me anxiety, so I pant and whine a lot (or so I'm told). I am potty trained and do know how to sit and shake. I am told I have an umbilical hernia that will need to be fixed, and once I am healed from that, I will have to go through heartworm treatment. I am hoping to be ready for my forever family at the beginning of December. As I continue to figure out this amazing new world, I will keep everyone updated on me.     Hi Everyone!! What a journey I've had.... but like a true firebird, my resurrection is complete and now I'm shining bright as the sun! Mom says I must be a Gemini, because one minute I can be the sweetest, loving little cuddle muffin' - and the next I can be bouncy Tigger playing tug -o war with my big brudder Laz and chasing him around the room like a buzzy bee. I like to give kisses and go on sniffing adventures in the neighborhood. Mom says I haven't learned that walking on a leash means actually 'walking' . I'm too curious to just march down the sidewalk. I don't pull or bark at other dogs, but I sure do like to examine things. ... (Read More)I'll go in the crate for a cookie, but it's not my favorite place to be, for sure. I'm a good girl so I don't have to be there very often. I need a home with a fur buddy because I've never been alone before. My brudder Lazarus has always been my protector and I love to play. I'm little, but I'm tuff! I don't much care for other female dogs. Fur-Boys are just fine. I'm good with kitties too! I bet you'd like to meet me. :-) See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3457 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php.     'Hey Everyone!! Just thought I'd take a minute and give you an update. Now that my Foster Peeps have had time with me, they've learned all kinds of neat stuff! I could a told them if they'd asked. I'm a tall, lanky boy - built like a runner. My fur is as silky as a bunny's ear. I'm really just a big 'old lap dog. I am extremely affectionate and playful. I will wiggle from toes to nose to get your attention. As long as you are loving on me I will stay as close to you as I can get. I love squeaky toys and tug of war. I'm super smart and even though I'm a bundle of energy, I will listen if you are serious. I'm hesitant with new ... (Read More)people and new fur pals at first. But once I know you want to pet me or play - I'm totally chill. I'm protective of my home and my people, but I'm not aggressive... Mom says there's a difference. I love kids, but I'm tall and so maybe little ones wouldn't be great because I want to snuggle and love on 'em so bad I might knock 'em down! :-) We are working on leash manners right now and I'm doing pretty good. I'm just really curious so I sniff around too much instead of actually walking lol. But because I'm so smart, and because I love my peeps so much, Mom says it won't take long to teach me. I'm getting that neuter thing done soon and then after a little rest from that I'll be ready to light up someone's life with boxer-love. Will that life be yours?     Smidge officially has an end date in sight for her physical therapy after having surgery to repair a dislocated hip. She will be cleared from PT as of the end of January! We will then be having her spayed in the beginning of February. Her treatments won't stop there though! This sweet loving girl will then go through heartworm treatment. She still has a ways to go before she can do meet and greets but we are hoping she will be ready in the end of March! She loves my 3 girls, loves to play and go for walks. Boxer    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, my name is Cooney. My foster family named me after the fighter Gerry Cooney, and I have the scars to prove it! Since my last dog brother like to hurt me sometimes, I might be best in an only dog home. I am a lover, not a fighter and in time, I became friends with my new foster brother and sister. (I'm the handsome devil on the left.) I'm learning to trust my foster mom and dad, and I'm finding that meeting new people can be fun too. I am protective of my home and yard. I am working on gaining confidence and learning to play. My foster mom was so happy when she saw me grab a toy and throw it in the air. It's the first time she's ... (Read More)seen me do that. I now know that when my foster mom gets close to my face, it's to give me love, not to hurt me. I didn't used to give kisses much, but now that I'm trusting more, I like giving kisses. I can get scared when there are loud noises or yelling, so older children would probably be best for me. I know sit, stay, come, shake, down, and leave it (most of the time). I really like when my mom calls me a GOOD BOY! I am not quite ready for adoption at this time, but my foster mom will consider letting me meet some special families soon.     'Sweetheart Madeline is sweet as can be and a gentle soul, once you get to know her. Unfortunately, she had a rough road getting here and is still very slow to warm up to new people and surroundings. Give her a bit of time, and the wiggle butt is fully active! She loves to be with her people and enjoys being with her foster fur siblings, also. Squeaky toys always get her attention and she enjoys de-stuffing stuffed animals periodically, too :) Madeline is looking for a family that will love her, with her quirks. Unexpected movements and noises, including cars, make her skittish. She does bark at some characters on TV and when dogs ... (Read More)bark on the TV or computer. In spite of needing to fatten up this skinny girl, she is a picky eater. Adding a tiny bit of chicken, cheese or bread helps to keep her eating, or adding canned food to the dry. She is an escape artist, knowing how to open up some gate designs: she did it in the shelter and in her foster home, once. Openings in the lower areas of the fence will need to be checked for this girl;) If you'd like a couch buddy who is always happy to see you, check out this amazing girl!'     'Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is John Henry. I may be a bit older or actually considered a senior but your only as old as you feel... Right? Well I don't feel old. I can run and jump with the best of them. I'm old enough that I have manners that some of the younger whipper snappers may not have. I am crate trained, I know the dog door, I can shake with both paws, will fetch a ball and I will sit for my food and not touch it until you release me.
