Hey y'all! I am still pretty new to my foster family! It's been a couple of days and my foster mom thinks I'm pretty neat. She is completely baffled as to why anyone would have let me go but I'm not complaining I'm on the way to living the good life. I must tell you I'm only interested in meeting families that want a companion for life through thick and thin; I want to find my forever human(s). That being said, I'll fill you in on what I've shown my foster mom so far.... Strengths: - Houstrained - I'll sit for treats and goodies and I'll also give you a high five; pick one of my two front paws... back paws not included. - I love to play with ... (Read More)toys and I'll fetch and maybe bring it back. I can't get too riled up right now as I'm battling kennel cough (basically what you humans call bronchitis). - snuggling is a must with my new humans, I'm a man dog though so don't expect me to snuggle all night, I still like sleeping in my own bed. -kisses- sign me up! - Listening skills - For the most part I'll pay attention to what you want, I have to understand you're in charge and once you establish that I'm good to go. - Eating- I'm a growing boy that's underweight so your food is my food and my food is my food and the neighbors food is my food. Some things my foster mom thinks I should work on.... there is always room for improvement so I can be the best boxer I can be! - Selfies.... she said I need to be a better selfie taker. - Leash walking. It's best that I wear a harness because I'm still learning leash manners and I want to go where I want to go at the pace I want to go at; the harness helps me not choke myself! It's been cool. - Crate- I DONT love that crate! I'll be a perfect angel out of the crate please don't put me in there! Let's make a deal; I'll eat in the crate and get used to if you promise to not leave me there for long... not a fan. -Also, back to the part where I mentioned your food is my food.... apparently counter surfing is a NO NO... don't leave me alone around it or I'll swipe it, zero shame. - I like to be around my humans all the time . 8 am basically a stage 5 clinger and though I don't destroy things... I might get a little anxiety if I can't find you. - My past humans didn't take my ''man-hood' away from me so I need to get that taken care of when I get better from my cough. To Be Determined: - Dog Friendly--- we think I like other dogs. Mom briefly introduced me to my foster sister Koa and I have a foster brother too I haven't met yet. The kennel cough is contagious right now so we don't to get them sick! -Cat friendly- No idea... maybe?? - Kid friendly- I don't see a problem with little humans they drop a bunch of food... I should still get tested to be certain. Basically, so far I'm an awesome dog. Maybe between 1-1.5 years old (yeah you ladies aren't the only ones that don't like to reveal your true age :-) ). I still need to get healthy and checked out before I can meet anyone but I'll check back in and update y'all some more as the days pass!     H! My name is Prince Charming , Charming for short, and boy am I Charming! I sit for my meals, hang out quietly in my crate when my foster family is gone, and play nice with the fur kids. Mom says I love to hang out ON you, I mean with you. I just wanna be REALLY close when we hang out. I can get a little jealous if she is snuggling with the other dog, and may whine a little to let you know my disdain. Mom says I need to gain a couple pounds, so I'll be hanging my leash with Mom for a few weeks. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, My name is Groucho Marx because that is who I look like! What do you think? I am a very sweet boy. Did I tell you, I am so cute with my long tail. That darn tail follows me everywhere and gets in the way of things! I am still a youngster, so I love to run and play, like boxer pups do. One of my favorite things to do is give you little, gentle kisses. I also know how to shake, sit, down, stay, and I walk well on a leash. Someone decided I should know what a crate is!! Well I do fine in that thing, but I need a little treat to help me go in. I am such a good boy, though, you can just let me hang out in the house, also. I do not even ... (Read More)bark. I have a dog companion now. I really have so much fun keeping her active, whether she wants to or not! When I decide to slow down for a minute, I hit my pillow and fall asleep, just like boys do. Oh, I must not forget, I love to be petted and have some attention, too! You may wonder why I came to LBR, if I am such a good boy. Well, Mom had to live with Grandma and since I am such a puppy, I was too playful and needed a home where I could be a boxer. But I had lots of love from my Mom. That's why I am so sweet! I love children, get along with dogs, I do not know any cats, am house trained, crate trained, very gentle and sweet. But, I am like a puppy! I would like a family with a dog companion, not real long crate hours and lots of love! If you are wanting a well behaved young boy, I would like to meet you!     'Hi! Welcome to my page! My name is Flip and I'm the most gorgeous boxer you'll ever meet. My manners are absolutely perfect. I can be trusted alone in the house even for an entire day, no need to use a crate! I honestly don't like crates very much, so it's a good thing that I don't need to be put in one! I know to sit for treats and I respond well to verbal commands. I love car rides and I love long walks, but I do pull when I see other humans or other dogs. I absolutely love to cuddle with my foster mommy and I like to be in the same room as her. I also love my skin brothers and all their friends, I think kids are pretty cool ... (Read More)creatures %81S I live with a fur sister but I prefer to be with my humans. I don't pay much attention to her even though she wants to play with me. I'm actually not sure how to play with another dog or with toys, but I'm starting to play with my foster mommy a little more. When she runs, I run and I do silly things, it's fun! %81S Unfortunately my previous humans didn't take good care of me and I have little worms in my heart. I will need to go thru the treatment before I can find my forever home. I also had a little mast cell tumor removed from the top of my head. Thankfully the doctor said he removed it completely, yay! Well, that is all for now. I will continue to rest and get better here with my foster mommy, but if you think I can be your guy, please give LBR a shout! I would love to meet you!     ' Hey Everyone! I'm Ashton! I love toys, playing and love other dogs and people! I haven't met any cats or other creatures yet. I'm 1 year old give or take, tall but very skinny and could gain lots of pounds, and I'm told a beautiful flashy brindle boy! My foster mom says I'm just like a sponge - super smart and ready to learn anything - very eager to please. The first day I was with Legacy Boxer Rescue, I learned the doggy door both in and out. The second day in care, I learned sit and lay down consistently. I had no skills before because no one taught me anything! Geez! If they taught me nicely, they would've seen how ... (Read More)smart I am! I love to cuddle and am super puppy, which means I need to learn what's mine and what's not. I don't like to be away from you and would love a stay at home or retired person who understands puppies and a companion dog with like energy would be great too. I'm not completely house trained but told I'm learning so fast! I jump high and am very agile so I need exercise and to be kept secure too. I'd love kids to play with but have to learn manners - a temporary condition but still something to think about. I'm going to be an amazing dog and my foster mom says drop dead gorgeous! Awe chucks! I should be ready before Halloween and can't wait to meet you!'     'This pretty girl has a new name to go with her new life. Meet Fritzi! She's a sweet 3 - 4 year old boxer girl that somehow found herself in the shelter. She has been to the vet and had her checkup. She is now spayed (no more puppies) and heartworm negative - Yay! Her foster parents have already learned that she's dog friendly and that she LOVES people. She follows them wherever they go, being sure to stick close and watch everything that they do. She doesn't seem to know any commands, but she's a smart girl and will learn quickly. She needs to gain some weight and when she does, she'll be on the medium to large size. Probably in ... (Read More)the 60 - 65 lb range. She's already put on a few pounds and weighs in at 61 lbs. During her vet visit, the vet found a small lump and removed it. There were some mast cells present, but it was a grade 1 with good margins, which is the best possible news. She's on benadryl twice a day for 6 weeks. As with ALL boxers, any lump or bump will need to be looked at by the vet. Fritzi is not a fan of cats, so absolutely no cats in her new home. Fritzi's favorite thing to do is to be upside down. If you have the time and a spare hand, she's always willing to go belly up for a good belly rub. She is fully vetted and ready for her forever home.' Boxer    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

10/7/16: Dak is HW+ and needs to be neutered, so he has a minimal 6 weeks of surgery and recovery ahead. He also still needs to gain more weight, but he has put on a few pounds in the last week! 10/19: Dak has gained a few more pounds, but still has a long way to go. He had neuter and lump removal today and will have sutures removed in 2 weeks, then the 30+ day HW treatment. 11/27 Dak is still on his 30 days of 'staying calm' for Heartworm treatment. He is a fun bundle of crazy energy when he gets worked up, so kids need to be over 10 and strong of mind in his new home:) We think he is dog friendly, but he may be selective. See my ...     'Hi friends, my name is Hurley and I'm looking for a forever family. I'm very much still a boxer puppy and have lots of energy. I like my toys, I enjoy chewing on things, and I love other FEMALE dogs. Mom says I don't play well with other boy dogs. Mom says some people are worried that white boxers can't hear, but I can hear everything! I like to be by moms side most of the time, but I am content with laying on my bed and napping or chewing on a toy. I get VERY excited when I meet new people , but, but I'm working on not jumping...I think I'm a good jumper! She says I hop like a jack rabbit in the back yard. I don't mind my crate too ... (Read More)much anymore and it helps that my two sisters are here when mom leaves. I'm a really good hugger and I love to give kisses! My favorite things to do are play tug of war with my fur sister, take naps in the sun, and cuddle with mom. If you think I sound like a good fit for your family, please let Legacy Boxer Rescue know!'     Hi! My name is Orlando. My Foster home says 'Orlando' means 'spunky, toy-loving, crazy Boxer-spirited boy'. That's exactly what I am'| with whipped cream and a cherry on top! Let's get the basic hubbub out of the way, shall we? I am crate trained (a yummy treat helps me go in easy). I am a very strong boy. I could easily knock down small children, so any kiddo's in the home should be 14 or 15 years of age or older. I am a pretty smart fella! I'm learning 'SIT'. I know 'OFF!' mainly because I like to counter surf and put my paws on you for kisses and loves. And, I'll be honest with you'| I'm learning 'LEAVE IT' because I love ... (Read More)to pick up anything left on the floor (or in the trash can) that maybe you wouldn't want me to have, such as shoes, clothes, ear buds, Kleenexes, TV Remotes (it's a pretty long list), etc. Don't let this scare you away, though. I am easily redirected with fun dog toys'| I love to play with anything you give me. Fetch is a pretty fun game, too! At two years old I am ALL puppy. My foster mom says I have the best woo-woo-'s she's ever heard and they make her heart melt. I woo-woo when I'm happy or excited or when it's time to eat. I even woo-woo with a toy in my mouth! I love attention and giving kisses. You already know that I love toys. I like to stay b-u-s-y because I have a ton of Boxer energy! I definitely need a fur brother or sister because I love to mouth joust and wrestle so they should be about my size or bigger. I'd get too lonely without a fur sibling and I may end up crying in my crate. The most important thing that you should know about me is'| wait! Is that a new ball? Gotta run'| Catch ya later! Please note that Orlando is currently under a vet's care but we hope that he will be cleared to undergo his heart worm treatment very soon. We anticipate he will be available for adoption mid October, 2016.     'Hi I'm Burton. I've been with my foster family for about two months now. I'm 10 years old, fawn with a perfect black mask (no grey hair), and a 56 pounds fellow that still needs to add 5 pounds or so. I've previously lived, with only one owner but due to some personal life changing issues she had to let me go and find a new forever home. I'm a very docile, calm fellow who gets along with other dogs and people. I'm never mean or angry with anyone. I just want to nuzzle up to you and get petted and I'm always happy to see new people. My foster dad is starting to train me in some commands but since I didn't start until I was 10 years old ... (Read More)it is taking a little while. I now have sit and stay very well but still working on the down command. I can stay in a crate with no issues, but since I wasn't neutered until I was 10 years old, and probably never trained earlier, I am having some difficulty with my housetraining. I'm good while people are home and you let me out immediately after eating but, if I'm left out of my crate when the family is gone, I still have accidents. But I'm working on it. I haven't been on any walks yet since I am undergoing Heartworm Treatment and the vet is taking a slow extended approach due to my age. I am scheduled for my next round of treatment soon and will need another 30 days afterwards before I will be ready to go visit people. The vet also removed a lump from my neck and says I need to take Benedryl every day from now on. Once I recover from the Heartworm Treatment I'll be ready to start seeing new families and to meet my new forever family. If you're looking for a great dog I may be your guy. Give my people a call and we'll do a Meet and Greet. See you soon!     Traci is a wonderful gal who loves her morning walks and treats. She does pretty well on a leash, but you better hold on tight when she sees a squirrel or rabbit! Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi everyone, my name is Ninja! I have been with my foster family for just a few weeks now. I am super sweet and pretty chill for a boxer. I lay around most of the day on whatever seems comfortable (couch, floor, box, laps). My mom wonders if I'll get some energy back when I am all better though. I still have a few hurdles ahead of me, I'm heartworm positive and currently unaltered. I love to cuddle with my mom! I'm great with the little toddler they have running around here. He tries to be gentle but will roll on me and sit on me sometimes, but I don't mind at all and love the attention. He also gives me kisses and hugs! I'm ... (Read More)pretty quiet too. I rarely bark or make any noise. When my fur-sister starts to bark, I'll occasionally jump in on the fun but not usually. She's an older, smaller dog, and we get along great! We never fight or get angry with each other. She's used to having girls around so I bet she's happy to have a hunk like me around these days %BD%81S I came to my foster family pretty skinny, with my ribs showing. I've since eaten quite a bit and have started to put on some weight. I'll let you know how much I weigh these days after my next check-up next week. They have me on a grain free no poultry diet right now because they think I might have a food allergy. That's okay though, the Salmon and Sweet Potato food they have me on is DELISH! My mom says I am house trained but not crate trained yet. They are working on it with me though. I usually just get free range of the house, if they are home or away, and they have a dog door for me so I use it when I need to go potty, and that's about it. After being outside for a while before I was fostered, this AC they have for me feels way too good to be spending my time outside. Everyone who meets me says I am one cool dog! So calm when people come over and I haven't jumped up on a single one of them. Mom and dad say I will make the best fur baby for whomever adopts me. Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hey everyone! My name is Hashtag and I'm a spunky boxer boy who's been with LBR for a couple of months now. I'm full of silly puppy energy but foster mom tells me I'm very well behaved for my age. I know sit, down, shake (with BOTH paws, thank you very much!) and high five. Foster mom says my paws are super active so she put them to work. So how does a seemingly perfect boy like me end up with a rescue? I was surrendered by a family who no longer had the time to care for me. I didn't get any training when I was there so I was a bit of a wild child when I first got to foster mom's. She's been teaching me all kinds of good stuff and ... (Read More)I'm learning that ''Four on the Floor'' means I get pet more. I sure do love getting loved on! It's my favorite! I don't remember what happened, but when I was little something happened to me that left several scars. I have a big one on my right side and several smaller ones on my body. Part of my jowlies on the right side are also gone. Foster mom says chicks dig scars so it's all good, but some people have been afraid of me because I look different than other dogs. I don't know why a scar would scare someone off, but foster mom tells me I'm a stunning boxer boy and don't need to worry about those people. Foster mom learned the hard way that I don't like to be confined at all! You can ask her about the door I chewed through or the time I hurt myself really bad trying to break out of the crate. So, she leaves me out in the house with access to a dog door and I'm a perfect gentleman. I don't mess with any of her things but I have snagged a thing or two out of the trash so she keeps it in a different room now. I taught her something too! ha! I live with 4 other dogs and we get along great! None of them really like to play and they are older so I respect their space. I've loved just about all the other dogs I've met. The only time I'm nervous about meeting new dogs is when I'm on a leash. Foster mom says I'm a bit of a butt towards new dogs when I'm on a leash. We're working on that though! In my forever home, I'd love to have a playful dog to help burn off some of my energy. I need a family that understands my anxieties about being confined and is ok with me being out uncrated. Since I can be barky at times, I need a house vs an apartment. My family also needs to be able to continue my training so I can be the best dog possible. #hashtag #lbrfoster #lookingformyforeverhome ' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3228 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php. Animal ID: 16140Hudson, Medical Hold (male)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hello all. Hudson is just about ready to start meeting families so he can find his forever home. Hudson is a special needs boy but doesn't every pup have a special need or two? His are a bit more than most but truly Hudson is able to live a very normal life and make the right family so happy. Hudson has a peculiar gait and some agility issues. He can see just fine but his reactions are a bit delayed so he will sometimes run into things. Sometimes when playing he'll lose his balance. He generally doesn't fall now but can occasionally. Because of his mobility issues we have to be very careful who Hudson goes to live with. We know ... (Read More)he needs another dog in his life. His new best buddy will have to be very laid back and tolerant of Hudson's antics. See, Hudson can not defend his self at all. If another dog goes after him Hudson could be seriously hurt. Hudson is an adolescent and can be annoying to another dog. He had been around a cat or two and basically ignores them. He knows they're there but doesn't seem to care. He's not big on being held. Being restrained freaks him out. Any vet or groomer will need to know this. When he gets wound up you just have to release him and let him circle a bit. That usually will do the trick. Now for the good stuff! Hud is an awesome amazing dog! He has the best personality. He loves everyone. He's *very* enthusiastic. He is crate trained. He is house trained. He loves to be loved on. He's good on walks. We have loved watching him grow and learn. He is vocal when he hears things so apartments won't work for him. You'd have some very mad neighbors. If you'd like an opportunity to meet Hudson when he is ready then let your AC know. If nothing changes he should be ready by the new year.' Animal ID: 11499Zsa Zsa (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Hi Daahlings ZsaZsa here. I am back in all my glory and beauty. I was returned through no fault of my own, my previous family had life come up and the maavalous volunteers at Legacy Boxer Rescue took me right back. Let me tell you a bit about me, I'm a Boxer/Mastiff/Visula mix. So I'm a bit of a big girl with a huge heart to love a family of my very own. Momma says I'm a love bug and love my people. I love kids! I am memorized by them because they are small people that love to love on me and I return that love 10 times. I'm pretty good with other male dogs as long as they let me be in charge or at least think I'm in charge. ... (Read More)Momma says I'm dog selective, any good male dog can pull that off letting me think I'm in charge. On the weekends my foster daddy camps out with me, that is sleeps in the other bedroom with just me and I love that part. I'm a cuddler for sure. I also think that TV is the bomb! I lounge on the couch and watch TV,the only problem with that is no one feeds me treats and fans me, such a life. I'm a laid back girl with a small bark but momma always says it'll be a huge surprise if someone breaks in our home because my bark is small but then they'll see me and run!! If you want to know more about me, please contact the good people at Legacy Boxer Rescue and they'll get you in touch with my foster momma and we'll set up a date. Hugs and sloppy kisses, Zsa Zsa ' See my complete bio at http://www.savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=3268 If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out our adoption application to begin the process at http://savetheboxers.com/adoptionapp.php.
