Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi my name is Scorcho because I am a Hot Mess! I am just a puppy so I get into everything, out of everything, play with everyone, and want all of the love from whoever wants (and/or doesn't want) to give it. For the first 7.5 months of my life I lived outside, I never saw the inside of a home or learned what love from a family was. I am learning that now. I am working on my manners and I am smart so this is coming quickly to me. The resident Boxers in my Foster Home potty trained me in one day - YES I tell you this is NO lie! They showed me where the doggy door was and how to use it, I had 2 accidents and that was all. They are still ... (Read More)teaching that the crate is my safe place, the couch is my snuggle place and stealing Mom's sock is pretty funny. I still have to be neutered so I am not ready for adoption yet. I'll update when I am. For now look at my foster brothers and sister who have been waiting for their forever family for a while now, as I am still new. Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Well hello there, my name is Rizzoli. Yes, my foster mom is a fan of the show! I'm fairly new to my foster home and I have been recovering from a nasty bug I picked up at the shelter. I still need to get my vetting done so it may be a few weeks before I'm ready to adopt. I was in that shelter for awhile. I had been found as a stray but my people were located and notified I had been found. Unfortunately, they chose to leave me in there rather than bringing me back home. I don't know what I did to deserve that but I do know it doesn't matter anymore. Once I was saved by LBR, it only took me a couple of days to figure out I was in the ... (Read More)best place I could be. What my foster mom already knows about me is...I'm pretty perfect! Calm and quiet and content on my own, I don't make a bunch of noise or get into things that aren't mine. I'm good to go into my crate without any fuss but I can be trusted out of it alone. I'm a good girl. I am house broken so no accidents inside either! If lounging on the couch were an Olympic sport, I'd win! What can I say, I love my naps. We'll update this later, we just wanted to let everyone know how wonderful I am. If you're interested or have any questions about me, just let Legacy know.     Hi my name is Major Bologna, I am almost 6yrs old (my birthday is 10/10/2009). I love to play bow and pounce. I have a brother that I have spent the last 5.5yrs with, I met him when I was only 3months old and he has been my protector my entire life. We love each other very dearly. He and I love to spend time with each other and kids. We had a family once but they couldn't keep us, we had children that we protected and we loved them so much. If we could have that again, together, we'd be so very excited. We are both house trained, crate trained, very well mannered. We don't jump up unless invited.     'How much cuteness can you pack into a teeny tiny boxer girl?? A lot! I'm Sofia, and I am a beautiful brindle girl weighing in under 30 lbs...but let me tell you, I have a lot of personality in this little body! I love to cuddle with humans and and my fur brother and sister, but I really love to play! I love to box, chase, bite ankles and ears of my fur buddies. I might be a little too playful for an older fur sibling...they're probably too cranky to put up with my antics. But if you have a dog that needs a playmate I would love to meet them! I bet we can wear each other out pretty quick, and then I'd love to relax with you on the couch ... (Read More)and enjoy being an inside dog :) I was used only as a puppy maker before, can you imagine, I'm a baby myself! I was made to stay outside enduring the elements, so enjoying a family inside their home is something very special for me. I love my people so much that I am like a little shadow everywhere they go, just to be sure they know I'm there to love them. I sure am loving the good life with my foster family, but I am such a great girl they say I deserve a family of my very own! Do I sound like the special girl you have been waiting for? I'd love to meet you and promise to love you forever! Ciao for now!     ' Hey There! My name is Frances, but my foster mom calls me sidewinder! Not sure why but maybe it's because of the fabulous Boxer Beans I do for her. She also tells me I'm the sweetest little girl, I keep my figure trim at 45 pounds. I'm a little grey, but hey, don't let that fool you, I still have plenty of pep in my step! I have a fur brother Maximus (boxer) who I love to play with and a little fur sister Kenzie (Boston Terrier) who took a little time to get used to, but I think she's ok now, but slow introductions work best for this little lady.     'Hey There!!! My name is Snoop and I'm an all natural fawn puppy with long tail with a white tip that wags all the time and a little flash (white markings) on my nose, chest, feet and tail! I'm full of vim and vinegar and also love to cuddle at night when I'm out of energy! Some good Samaritan saw me running around in town on the 4th of July and got me to the vet right away and even paid for it! What a super nice lady! That's when Legacy Boxer Rescue came in and got me. I'm crate trained and working hard on potty training, but I'm not quite there yet even though I've never had an accident in my crate. That's because my foster mom ... (Read More)makes sure I get to go out every 3 hours because little guys like me can't wait. I LOVE to PLAY!!! Especially I love to play BALL and love to play with other dogs that like to PLAY! My foster mom thinks it would be best if I go to a home with not super young kids right now because I'm still puppy nipping and everyone acts like it's a big deal and like it hurts or something when I do that. I'm told that's something we are working on. Since I love to play in the yard, a yard would be great but otherwise just someone that would give me lots of exercise because I like to keep busy! I'm a really happy kid with lots of personality but people are saying I do need training. Geesh, like all dogs don't need some training or something! I've still got to get all my puppy shots, but I'm close to being ready to go. If you have lots of energy and want to have FUN, and you gotta be a really nice person/family, I'm your guy!!! I should be available around mid August.' Animal ID: 15450Hector (male)

Boxer    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

' Hi Everyone! My name is Hector (like the Ancient Greek hero) and like my namesake, I am one of the handsomest boys around. I am about a year and a half old, so I still have plenty of puppy energy to go around. However, I do enjoy a long nap with my senior foster sister from time to time. I am housetrained, using a doggy door to go potty, and crate-trained. I am an extremely curious boy and will want to watch you do almost everything. I am extremely friendly and loving and giving hugs is my absolute favorite activity. I sometimes jump up but most of the time I just lean in and wiggle. Because of this, my foster mom suggests that I be in a ... (Read More)household with no children under 10. I am neutered and am currently undergoing treatment for intestinal worms, but that is the only thing holding me back from my forever home. I can be very skittish sometimes around new objects, but I am getting much better about being brave like my namesake. Although I am easy going most of the time, whenever I'm bored, I start to get a little too curious for my own good. So, it would be best if I had another active dog to play with. I am very excited to meet you and find my forever home.     'Please allow me to introduce you toČ'Ř| Me, Roxie! I've heard it's not polite to introduce yourself, but I'm a friendly girl and I love to meet new people. As a matter of fact, my three favorite things in the whole world are hanging out with people, cuddling with people, and going places with people. I'm a people-dog. I also love to walk or jog on a leash. I'm a good girl; I know not to pull. I know how to ring a bell to let you know I need to go outside. I like to play in the water. I can even kayak if you're willing to row. Due to changing life circumstances and family structure my current people feel I would do best in a different ... (Read More)home. I trust them. I know they want what's best for me. Fortunately, the people at Legacy Boxer Rescue have agreed to help me find new people. I'm looking for a home where I can be an only dog. Even though I'm a people-dog, I'm not a dog-dog. My ideal new home would have a soft bed for me and good food. Most importantly my new people should have kind words and loving hands to pet me. I know I'm asking a lot, but I'm worth it. In return for all of that, I'll repay you with my boundless love, unending loyalty, and complete devotion.' Boxer    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

'Updated Bio. I will hopefully have new pictures by the end of this weekend. Please leave up what is there for now. My name is Dalahni (Da-Lawn-ee). I am a cutie patootie 1.5 to 2 year old gorgeous white Boxer weighing in at 52 lbs. I am deaf, but I don't let that stop me. I am a very smart girl. I know several commands through hand signals: sit, down, stay, and I'm learning (or re-learning) off. Oh, and I love cheese. Cheese, cheese, cheese. I will do anything for cheese! I am completely crate trained. I don't fuss a bit when you put me in... although a treat (... like... ummm.... maybe some cheese?) would make it easier for me to ... (Read More)go in. I am also house broken. Because I'm deaf, I tend to be a velcro puppy. I like to go where you go and hang out with you until you are done. I love to go for car rides. I'll go anywhere with you and feel comfortable. I love kids, too. I like to gently put my paws up on you to get some lovin', so I may accidentally knock smaller kiddos down (remember, I'm learning 'off'). My foster Mom says I am 'sweet, sweet, sweet'. I love to give light kisses and gentle hugs. I just like to be close to you. I am pretty laid back for a young Boxer. I have recently started to show off in the backyard with some awesome Boxer burns. My foster mom giggles when I run... I guess it's because I am so cute. I can't hear her but I can see the big smile on her face. She thinks I'm pretty special. My foster home has a male and a female Boxer. I'm taking my time in getting to know the male. He's a calm 3 year old boy, but honestly, I'm just not fond of being off leash around him. We have walked around the block together without any incidents and have hung out in the back yard a few minutes at a time, so I am making progress, but it's very slow. I have no interest in meeting the female. With all of that being said, I wouldn't be good for a dog park. I wish I could be, but that's not my scene. I must confess, I was a full blown counter surfer when I moved in with my foster family, but I don't do that too much anymore. I like to sit and wait for treats now. I am available for meet and greets, so if you are an approved adopter already, ask your adoption counselor about me. Or, you can visit me at the scheduled Pet Fairs. I am ready to meet my furever family. If I don't sound like the girl for you, please check out the other cool Boxers on this site. There are lots that need good homes! Now I'm off to find some - yep, you guessed it - cheese! Peace out!'     Hi, I'm Sonny, but my mom calls me a Big Hunk of Handsome. Don't let my size scare you. She says I'm a gentle giant. I know how to walk on a leash, get in my crate when told, use a dog door, use my inside voice, and wake my mom if I need to go out in the night. I like other dogs! There are 3 other dogs where I live right now and we are all doing fine. I don't know about small furry things yet, like squirrels or cats. They might be fun to chase. I've discovered I like soft beds. My mom says I didn't have a soft place to lay before and it caused some sores on my legs. But those are getting better everyday. I love hanging around ...     Hi my name is Boosted; my foster mom calls me Boo sometimes. I am a really good girl who is old enough to be past the puppy crazies and know my manners. I know we should walk side by side so we both enjoy the experience. I'm also really good at keeping the house clean and know that my business gets done outside! I'll even hang out in my crate while you're gone. I hardly ever bark at all , so if you live in an apartment or have nosey neighbors I won't bore them with my long speeches to myself. I am really friendly and get along with everyone, even super big fur friends like horses, goats, lambs and donkeys! I really love kids too! I have been ... (Read More)a mama before so I know I need to be careful and gentle with children. When we meet I'll even sit and shake your hand. And when I'm happy, I wag my nub and then entire back end of my body! We call this Boxer kidney beaning. :) See how great I am? I have gotten spayed so no more puppies for me thank goodness! I can give you all my attention now. Unfortunately, I do need treatment for heart worms. That is strange because I don't remember eating worms. My foster mom says that I am a sweet heart, I guess the worms agree. Anyway, they have to go and I don't want them tagging along to my forever home. I should be ready to shake your hand around the beginning of September. All you have to do is shout 'BOO'!     Hi there, my name is Joey. Thanks for visiting my page! It will be hard for my foster mom to sum up just how perfect I am but she will try!     'My name is Mycroft, dear ladies and gentlemen. I am named after the oldest brother of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. I am a distinguished looking gentleman with subtle silvering around my muzzle and super soft fur. Do not let that fool you! I have tons of energy!! You should see my moves. My foster mom says I'm 'springy.' I am quite agile and might like to try agility classes some day. I like to meet new people and sometimes forget to keep all four feet on the floor. I don't jump on people, I just raise up to see them better. I am eager to please and have very expressive, soulful eyes. I'm smart too! I learn new things quickly ... (Read More)and I'm very good at paying attention - just tell me what you want me to do. I like going on walks a lot! It's exciting to go on a walk, so I pull a little bit. Sometimes when I'm on my walk, I forget to greet other dogs without using foul language. I am working on this though. I like being around other dogs and hanging out with them, just don't really like not playing with them (I don't think I would like dogs parks at all). I DO like playing with my toys, going on walks, getting ear scratches, lounging on the couch, and hanging out with people. I've got a lot of love to share with you. It's all up to you to set up our meeting. Tell them Mycroft sent you.' Boxer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello, I'm Butterfly. I'm a beautiful dark brindle mature petite Boxer lady. I may only have the short fragile life of a butterfly left. Unfortunately, I have soft tissue sarcoma, a type of cancer that is destined to return. I was rescued from the shelter with a Nerf football size sarcoma on my front leg that was so large that the wound from removal was impossible to close. The best way to treat this type of cancer is to amputate my leg; however, my back legs are not strong enough for that and I have heart worms so that is not a possibilty. Being a mature dog and still in recovery, I'm not as strong as I once was but I can still manage to ... (Read More)walk about a mile if we go slowly and I get a few rest breaks. I would much rather be around people than other dogs since I don't like to play much anymore. I would love more than anything to meet you. You will know how happy I am because my nubby tail will be a blur and I will stand as long as you are there. I so adore meeting new people. I'm not sure I will be able to find my fur-ever home, but don't feel sorry for me. I have the best foster home and I'm making the most of the time I have left! I really enjoy sunning myself and rolling in the grass, and of course meeting new people! Please think of me fondly the next time you see a butterfly flit by. Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hello- my name is Orion. Let me start off by telling you that my foster parents literally saved my life. I was at an animal shelter that wanted to end my existence just because I had a really bad cold. Can you imagine being put to death because of a bad cold? Well, they couldn't either so they got me outta there. I am so grateful to be alive that I thank them everyday with gentle hugs and tender kisses. My foster family told me that they would help me during my journey to my true family. They say there is one out there. A family that will share their love with me, give me a place where I can romp and play and eat and sleep and then play ... (Read More)some more. Ahhhh, but I digress, let me tell you some more about my journey to find YOU. After I shook off that nasty cold, I had to do my part to help end the overpopulation of dogs. While sitting in that shelter facing death, I looked around at all the other terrified dogs. None of us knew if we'd ever feel love again, afraid we'd never see the next minute, the next hour or the next day. And I said to myself, I'd never want my sons or daughters to feel like this. So, snip, snap, took care of that. Soon after that I had to be treated for heartworms. I was like, what do you mean, worms? I don't dig in the dirt so how did I get worms? Well, it seems that someone in my previous life neglected to give me a tasty pill once a month that prevents these worms that come from infected mosquitoes not digging in the dirt. Boy, that was a long 30 days. I wasn't allowed to play, run or romp. My foster mom was pretty strict about it except that one time. I was behaving so well that she took me off leash in the yard after dinner so I could fertilize the grass. I was so excited to be off leash that when I was done, I bolted back to the house like a race horse. Foster mom freaked out, but I gave her kisses and told her I wouldn't do it again. Speaking of leashes, I LOVE to go for walks. I get so excited when foster mom is putting on her walking shoes, but I know to sit and wait for the leash to be put on. I'm very curious about the world out there, but I like to take in all in with a nice stroll. I'm sure I know everyone because when I see a dog or a person across the street, I stop and try to remember where I know them from. I'm sure if I stare long enough, they will tell me, but foster mom gently nudges me and we continue our walk. I am living with 2 other boxers and I loves them just fine. My fur foster brother likes to be chased around the backyard. Seriously, he does, so I indulge him from time to time. I have lots and lots of toys to play with. I have a favorite one that foster mom will throw and I'll chase it, grab it and shake it ferociously. I like to play keep away with my fur foster brother. My fur foster sister thinks all the toys are hers so she will come take it from me and I'm ok with that. There's plenty of other toys to toss around. We have big dog beds that we all sleep on together. Plus on special nights we all get to sleep in the bed with the foster parents. I don't sleep on the bed the entire night because foster Mom is a restless sleeper, so I'll end up on the dog bed on the floor so she can rest better. I'm considerate like that! Foster mom tells me that I've got great manners. I'm not sure what manners are, but I do know that if I want to eat my meals, I've got to sit and wait to be released. Oh, I like to savor my food. I don't see the point if inhaling it when I can savor each piece of kibble. I always drop some pieces on the floor so when I finish what's in my bowl, I can be like...Oooh, look, dessert. I absolutely love special treats. Before foster mom leaves for work, we have to go to our kennels to get a small milkbone. When she comes home, she makes us sit and we each in turn get a baby carrot. Sometimes we get a piece of banana or get to lick yogurt off a spoon. Foster mom says that's manners, I sit patiently and wait for my turn to get a special treat So now that I've told got a little about me, when do you want to meet up? I'd like for you to see how absolutely awesome I am in person.'     'Presley here, no not Elvis Presley but mom jokes with me sometimes and always sings these crazy songs. I'm a handsome little man. Weighing currently about 50 lbs and should be between 55-60 lbs when I'm fully ready for adoption. Mom says with another dog I am spunky, goofy and playful and I can agree. I really need a companion in my forever home to show me the ropes and that it's okay to be a dog and have fun and what's allowed and not allowed. I am more or less lost without one. I don't play, I don't cuddle, I honestly am just confused and unaware of what I can do.I have always been with another dog and that's a requirement for my ... (Read More)forever home and mom said she isn't going to budge on that. I'm sorry but she knows what's best for me and what will make me happy. I truly am a good dog. My fur sister and I always play and I'm so gentle and submissive around her. Also, we eat right next to each other with no problem (sometimes when she eats too slow I'll try to get some but mom always tells me no and I get away). We love to play with toys together and play tug a war. I also don't mind when she has a rawhide or bone and we just wrestle back and forth taking turns who gets to chew when. I don't mind you taking away toys or food at all, mom has even put her hands in my food and I got really confused but she said I needed to be tested. I am starting to come out of my shell more and more everyday and I do know my name Presley now. It took a little while but now I know when they call me. I do good on walks with another dog as well. Without another dog I have no leash manners and pull hard. But when I go walking with my fur sister I don't pull or even leave moms side. Okay, saved the best part for last! I don't bark or cry. My family and I and my sister live in a town home and I make a perfect apartment dog! I also love meeting new people and have the most wiggly butt mom has ever seen. Currently I am fighting some skin issues. Nothing contagious or any form of mange. Just from being outside all my life, something happened. I have a recheck on a vet appointment on 6/29 and should have more of an update then. Until I am cleared I will not be able to meet anyone for my sake and moms sake but as well as we need to figure out what's wrong with me. At this time, it looks like the medication we have been using has helped tons. In the long run I need to stay on this medication for life is that's the case. That would cost my future family about $22 a month for the pills and $20 for the special shampoo (which only needs to be done once a week) and that bottle should last you a few months. It is a little expense but my true forever family won't mind the little extra to give me what I need. I'm worth the wait, trust me. ''You aint nothing but a hound dog, crying all the time...'''     'Hello! My name is Cindy! I was born to my mom Carol and brothers and sisters called the Brady Bunch on 3/14/15. My mom doesn't talk about my dad, but the rescue thinks I may be a new designer breed dog called a boxund (a boxer hound mix). I know I must have my daddy's rectangle nose, floppy ears, and super soft fur. My favorite thing to do is be with people. I follow my foster parents around the house a lot of the time and jump in their laps whenever they are relaxing. I also like to give soft kisses. There's a dog door at my foster home to use when they are home, I'm getting pretty good at using that for potty time. For tricks I know sit, lay down, and I'm working on rolling over. I don't get what the big deal is, but my foster parents seem so happy when I do it and give my yummies so I'm happy :) If I sound like you're kind of girl, let my foster parents know so we can hang out some time. I'm good at using the dog door and I'm potty trained. I don't have a strong signal for going outside, so a dog door really helps me out and helps you out too. It's a win-win situation. Confession- I'm nosey. I really like to know what you have on the counters! I'll raise up to see what you've got up there and if I can reach it, I might help myself. Fortunately, I'm not that tall, so just push things to the back. I'm good at hanging out in my crate while my foster family is away. I like to talk to myself while I'm in there. I have a lot to say and it keeps me from getting bored. If you live in an apartment, your neighbors might not appreciate my philosophical soliloquies. I sleep in my crate at night because man can I saw some logs! Sometimes I can really get going. That's a sign of some good sleep. I'm not super playful but I do have a favorite toy that I will bring back to you if you throw it for me. Because I have an old soul, high energy little kids aren't really my thing.     '(Hooper is currently working on some stranger danger issues and is not available at this time. We are hoping to have these resolved by the end of summer or sooner. Fingers crossed for my Hooper.) Hi my name is Hooper and this is my story.... Some good Samaritans saw that I was lost and alone and they gave me some shelter. My foster mom said that they posted my picture on Facebook and eventually my foster mom was tagged in the post to help save me. I was then picked up and taken to Dallas Animal Services to work out my stray hold in case my original owners were trying to find me. They never came for me but then my foster momma came to ... (Read More)the shelter and evaluated me. She approached my kennel but I wasn't too interested in her as so many people had already neglected me that I didn't have much hope. Then in the yard she kept following me, calling me, and once she got me she wiped my boogies and picked some bugs off of me. It was at that moment I knew she loved me. She then left the room and started talking to someone on this little black contraption. Next thing I knew she was putting a leash on me and putting me in her car!! I was so happy to leave that place. The people there were really nice but the other dogs were way too noisy and really needed to take a chill pill. Then we arrived at the new homestead. I have a super soft warm bed, food, water, friends, and I get tons of hugs and kisses every day! I have always been told that this is what Heaven would be like!! I was really sick the first couple of days with something mom called Kennel Cough. I got tons of meds, zero sleep, and lots of love and hugs! Now that I am healed and super happy I get to play with this new girl that looks likes me and throws some sweet boxer punches and some other small curly haired girl that mom calls her sweet poodle. I have gotten to get out of the house a couple of times and I get this cool contraption put on me called a harness, then we are off to the races! I get to see the entire neighborhood with all its sights, sounds, and wonders and now that I know I am not alone I really like going for walks! What a wonderful feeling that is!! I am learning how to be an inside dog. Mom says I have some training to do but I am super smart and will learn quickly. I start my heartworm treatment and rest on January 20th and then will be ready for adoption at the end of February. I already have a list of families waiting to meet me so if you contact my mom about me don't get too depressed if I am not available. She said I am a looker and very popular! My mom says that I need a home where there is not a lot going on. I get very anxious and nervous when people come over. I would rather it just be me and my people, however I am learning to accept new people coming over. I would also not like to be around little kids as they are unpredictable and I don't like unpredictable. Someone who just wants to cuddle and love on me all day, plus give me food and kisses is exactly what I am looking for. Please make sure to microchip and give your pets heartworm preventative!     'They call me Candy for a few reasons: *I am sweeter than apple pie *My cute face is laced with white sugar *I am addictively lovable Legacy Boxer Rescue saved me when my previous owners dumped me at a shelter after making me live outside for years and years and years!!! So, for the past 13 months, I have been getting medical care and learning to be an inside dog. Now I am ready to become your dog! I have learned about air conditioning in the summer and how nice it is to sleep in a warm place on those icy days. I have learned that climate controlled places are not where doggies go potty. I have learned that I must quietly stay in my ... (Read More)crate when my people put me there. I have learned that humans like to say ''sit'' and that means my bottom half goes on the floor when my top half doesn't! But most of all, I have learned that I am smart enough, good enough and darn it, people like me!!! (And I love them!!) Although I am chronologically an old girl, I have a renewed lease on life and plenty of energy left after all the many years of backyard confinement and neglect. As a mature girl, I have learned not to ever lick more than a couple of times and I never put my mouth on humans -- especially the little kids (who I LOVE)!! I also don't play with toys or chase balls, but I sure love hanging with my people. I am ready and eager to go on walks and car rides, to hear all about your day while I snuggle with you, and I even will talk back to you! I like most other dogs and can be a great buddy to another friendly dog, too. Or, I am happy to be the only pet in the household. Come and meet me, and perhaps I am the friendly Boxer girl that will fit perfectly in your life! ' See my bio here: http://savetheboxers.com/available2.php?dogID=2709 (Less)
